I see the much maligned Dominic Blizzard scored yesterday in a higher division. He's racked up 46 appearances and 5 goals since he left for Yeovil!

Personally, I'd largely leave well alone. It aint broke. Just cover for Pope needed, unless MA has greater faith in Andrew than the rest of us. I presume McCallister will go and possibly Owen on loan, if someone will take him.

Don't rock the boat. The only place for Lee Hughes would be to drop Dodds and that would be plain daft.

I have heard today, but cannot substantiate, that a move to Leeds would be worth £8k/week to Tom

 

Read a BBC article saying the average salary of a Championship striker was around the 1 million pound mark/year, so if he does move to this league (I hope he doesn't and stays with us), 8k/week would be on the low side. If the BBC article is anywhere near reality, who could blame or stand in Popey's way when that sort of ackers is on the table.

I see what you are saying when you say if it aint broke etc.. but i do expect to see 3 new faces in January at least,although we will still have the option of loans after January i think.

If you were a Vale fan and had scored 20 plus goals and your team was top of the league- you would stay if the club means anything to you and you want to help them get up.

 

Imagine how Popey would feel, say, if he joins Leeds ad f*** it up there- doesn't end up playing and then sees Vale lose out on promotion??:(

Look at the goals we score and if its not popey who is the first to congratulate him - Pope.

 

I cannot see any way that Tom will leave Vale this season unless someone tells him he must go and the owners have said that is not going to happen.

 

So can we concentrate on who is coming in?

 

For me Chris Birchall would be a great midfield signing. Lee hughes would guarantee the goals to top the league, and a specialist left back would strengthen our back line.

They have got a lot of money and they must be spending some of it, they will be up towards the top at the end of the season I have no doubts.

I'd like to see some pace at the back, with the signing of Krystian Pearce. I think the LB position is now okay with Yates playing well there.

The fact that many championship clubs have been keeping tabs on him shows he might be able to cut it in the championship.
