There are two football channels on cable in the USA, FOX Soccer and FOX Soccer Plus, the former is only football and the latter mainly football but does show some Rugby. The channels ae owned by News Corporation's Fox Entertainment Group hence the link with Sky Sports and hence Rupert Murdoch.

 

Fox Soccer Channel shows 4 or 5 EPL games on a Saturday and 1 or 2 on a Sunday plus FA Cup and European Games, it literally is 24/7 football. Fox Soccer Plaus also shows Championship games and both channels show games from all the major European and South American Leagues.

 

Football has really taken off in the USA, eg more boys at the local High School tried out for football than for American Rugby last season however it will never replace the traditional American sports and neither should it.

I suspect somewhere it will be shown live.

 

In the first round i was able to watch Brentford v Boreham Wood i think it was, live on norwegian tv, even though it wasnt on in England.

 

Matches with main highlights on ITV on Saturday evenings normally are found live in many different countries.

I was discussing football/soccer with a Canadian bloke the other day and he was telling me you can watch more 'EPL' and Championship games over there than over here. He was saying that you can usually have a choice between a few of the 3pm Saturday kick offs which I found amazing!

I went to this bar at 10am on a Saturday last December and they every Premier League 3pm KO, plus Barnsley at home strangely. What struck me is that the bar wasn't full of ex-pats, but mainly Americans supporting a real mixture of teams. Unsuprisingly I didn't spot or speak to any Stoke fans. What a great place to just pull up a stool and chat down the bar to anyone who wants to listen. It couldn't be more American if it tried.

To be fair Bobby as soon as your outside England English football is readily available on TV. I can pop into several sports bars in Gibraltar and watch ANY Premier League game live. Also a whole host of other football including Vale v Oxford last month ;)

To be fair Bobby as soon as your outside England English football is readily available on TV. I can pop into several sports bars in Gibraltar and watch ANY Premier League game live. Also a whole host of other football including Vale v Oxford last month ;)

 

And will be watching Blades v Vale on Saturday, During/After work (I finish at half time!)

I don't know how FOX manages to get these matches that are not shown in England, but they do it all the time. Maybe he has something to do with it. :)

 

They don't "do it all the time". I have lived in the USA for almost 10 years and have never been able to see the Vale on television.

 

I shall be recording that game for sure.

I think every week if you search a bit you'll find that every Premier League game(so 10) will be shown by one network or another. Whether it's necessarily shown on mainstream British tele or not..

 

I've said for a while give it maybe 20 years and I bet we won't be far off the whole football league having this every weekend. I mean every game is at least filmed now for highlights purposes.
