With Brady's comments about wanting players that are young and upcoming in their careers instead of those coming to the end of their careers etc,i am hoping that means a good young and hungry striker or two,we know they are out there Orient did it with Ballard and Exeter with Wareham it's just finding them

 

I’ve got the Rochdale York game on, really impressed with the Rochdale Goalkeeper Oliver Whatmauff. He’s on loan from Man City and you can tell. So calm on the ball, kicking is great and reactions are quick.

One to look at for next season I think.

What we need is what Rudge put together as strikers 

A Futcher & Beckford combination of old head, talented, experienced hard man striker teamed up with a young, talented, hungry to learn, energetic striker.

Or ...

Constantine & Sodje ombination of a 6 yard box Jimmy Greaves finisher with a run his socks off front man occupying centre halves.

Or Foyle & Naylor ...

Or ...  just cry at what we have now!!

For me good strikers work in partnership. I am not a fan of one up front!

I'll second that. Had a fantastic game.

There are endless reasons for our relegation. But the main one is Darren Moore. And those that backed him when it was obvious what was happening.

Can talk all you want about recruitment, goals for, goals against, ability, creativity, pride, passion and everything inbetween but if the man at the helm has no idea how to address those issues then we are in trouble. Add to that that he caused an irreparable rift between players that decimated the squad before the next manager was even appointed. The damage was deep and, as has been proved, to much to repair. 

The other thing that really annoys me is I'm sick of "nice" port vale. Can we please grow some balls and show some fight. I don't want to watch this passive style that we have developed since Crosby. It's not football.

I see Grimsby have a striker they signed from Truro called Kabia and he has notched 17 goals this season so they can be found in non league(well we know that with Tolaj),so i would sooner see us spending a fee on an Ormerod or Thomas or one of those in the National league than a Faal

Brady is going to be held to this comment. May as well forget it. Every squad up and down the country has a blend of kids, experience and older players. I hope people don’t judge the summers business based off this comment from Brady, because you can guarantee people will say “hes not an up and coming player” when he signs or retains someone over 30. 

I suppose we shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water, but it very very clear we have very few players up to league one standard! With a few decent additions we have enough to get out of league 2 ! If we get back to league one and that’s a big if we will need a massive squad overall.

Not a transfer, but we must keep/resign Onel.

Looking at the teams who will probably be in league 2 next season,we SHOULD be a decent enough sized club with a budget that can compete for any player with another club but it's all down to who we target

I haven't heard it myself but someone told me that Brady said in an interview(not the pvtv one as i have seen that one) that you have to pay fees for the best players because a lot of free agents wont be that good or something along those lines,so i can see us paying a few fees this window,hopefully on a couple of strikers and a decent midfielder,the rest can then be made up of some good free agents(maybe players who have turned down deals at their current clubs)

Ale & Vale podcast mentioned Samson Tovide. He’s out of contract but with being only 22, a fee would have to be paid

He is a big,powerful and quick lad thats for sure but i dont think he is prolific 

3 goals in 41 appearances this season,so would fit in 🙂
