Match Thread - Port Vale v Burton

Featured Replies

Typical, bring grey and brown on and we get two chances both of which fall to brown. He should score the first one, sorry I'm not having excuses he isn't a defender or a midfielder he is a striker the one skill he needs to master before anything else is how to strike the ball and he side foots it tamely straight at the keeper.

Waine man of the match, archer played well, stockley played well, croasdale did his job getting a foot in breaking up play etc, john played well.

Ojo refusing forward passes, putting team mates under pressure with stupid short passes to players being pressed and slowing it all down as usual we really need byers back.

Defence as a unit awful individually I can't believe Im saying it but Im not sure any of them was particularly bad humphries is a midfielder for me he is better in the middle than he is defending but to be fair all of them made last ditch blocks and tackles and clearances and none of them failed to give 100%.

I will take the draw even though it isn't good enough because we need wins its about what we deserved.

Please bin 5 at the back.

He won’t say it but - in a game you have to win - why else would you take off your best performing attacking players and bring on, Gray excepted, players with no scoring record?

No wonder we can’t score 🙁

Calling for "Brady out" after he has managed just 5 League games for us ...

And then expecting your proposal to be treated seriously ...

Shakes head in wonder ...

Why did we settle for a point?

because the way we were dropping back he was worried we would end up with nothing after being done by a late goal again

My major concern is the football being played. No pattern of play, no control or creativity in midfield and defensively we look so poor.

Brady will try and put a positive spin on it but the second goal conceded was as bad as it gets. its hard to see us winning another game in the league this season.

I appreciate this is a poor team but Brady’s tactics are poor, especially when he is selling himself as being tactically savvy and taking timeout of the game to work on it. Games played so far doesn’t back up the BS he is pushing out.

Maybe he should have made changes earlier when it was obvious we were being overrun?

Or realised that a point is useless in our position.

Just bad management

I agree. At least wait until the end of the season because apart from it being a stupid thing to say there is no way we are getting rid of him before the end of this season so its pointless.

Why bring Browne on.

Gap may widen next week as involved in FA Cup

Win today woukd have left 7 point gap to Burton with two games in hand

One point from three home games. Was expecting 5 or 6.

I can’t remember a worse central defence partnership as Hall and Humphries. Can’t remember who partnered alongside Slater but it may have been then.

Terrible performance, we don't look fit. Midfield are like statues. George Hall at RWB, no thanks

Because he clearly is negative and clueless. We had poor starts under other managers like Clarke, but you could see what he was trying to do and we improved. Already what I can see from Brady is not good. Northampton fans said his football was negative and boring. Nothing I’ve seen goes against that.

How long a contract has been given? I see some improvements from Moore but not nearly enough to resurrect Port Vale as a decent team.
