Match Thread - Leyton Orient v Port Vale

Featured Replies

Chucked a 10er on an Orient bet builder.

May as well try profit from it.

Awful lineup.

I supported Brady coming in thinking we were going to go 2 up top and start being more adventurous.

But no, looks like we are continuing with this garbage.

I don’t think this will happen but should we play well today and win, I hope all the negative posters come on here and apologise.

Should it happen I will.

I’m happy to but on paper that is as bad as an 11 as it gets

If that is the best 11 to give any hope then i'm afraid all hope is lost.  What was the point of last season ? REALLY, WHAT WAS THE POINT !!!!

There is no hope. Carol has already made that obviously clear for me.

In fairness our most in form striker is playing, Waine is about 1 in 2 since the start of December!

I cannot see in a situation where we are desperate for points, that Paton can't make the squad, Hall is on the subs bench yet Brown starts. I am not impressed with the new manager

Apologies didn't read that Stockley was on the bench as well. Also why can't Clarke even make the bench. Paton, Clarke, Stockley and Hall always put the effort in, yet get left out for players that have been awful for the last 2 matches

I will be extremely happy to eat some humble pie. Seen enough this season to think that’s unlikely to happen though.

This shows Brady is all talk as well. He’s saying he’ll only pick players who give 1000%. Stockley has only ever done that. He’s the only football league standard forward we have. He was talking mid week about dying for the badge and being desperate to play, and whenever we’ve seen him he’s clearly displayed high levels of effort.

Instead we’ve picked a forward on loan who will likely have a career in the national league.

It’s a <ovf censored> disgrace how we are treating a proper pro who was one of our best players last season. If we are going to go down I’d rather watch Stockley giving it a go than brown and Waine get bullied.

I always thought this side although playing <ovf censored> was better than the sides we selected in our last relegation.
Today isn’t. Stinks of a bottom half league 2 side, no goals in that side. Ojo and Croasdale after last week. Brown starting. No Stockley. Clark and Paton not involved. I think this could be a very very short time in charge mr Brady.

Brady doesnt have a lot to pick from and probably nothing incoming.

What is also worrying is the connection between players and Brady.

Looks like Paton and Clarke have severed all links but also worrying is G.Hall and Gabriel, are there issues there too.

As for Walters, no  manager picks him unless desperate. He must be an awful trainer weekdays or a real attitude player. The attitude has my money on it. If he cant impress after last weeks shambles then he is no use to us.

I’ll answer Gabriel. He was <ovf censored> last week and his lack of effort was a disgrace. I’d <ovf censored> him off.

Why has nobody from the club come out and give a statement on how shut we are been run.

Weird one for me...as actually looks one of the more balanced sides we've played for 2 months. Is have picked stocky as there are big question marks over Dajaune Brown...but on that point I actually dont think hes really had a chance up front so im intrigued to see how he plays. Im under no illusions and still think we are doomed, but I do think brady is trying to reshape the team into something balanced and workable rather than sticking with a formation and a squad of players that have gathered us a pathetic points tally cross this campaign.

As for Devant Cole. Good riddance. Guys a mercenary, nothing more, nothing less. Ronan Curtis we will regret. Aside from Garriry, byers, G Hall and humprhies the rest can get in the bin as far as im concerned.

Disgusting treatment of Clark and Paton as well. I’m not having it that the players selected are better.

I don’t agree with that at all.

Brady has been brought  in so late he’s having to make quick decisions on players. If they are right or not remains to be seen but this will also be under the constraints of the club. If you’ve told a player they can leave you can’t put them in the squad.

Brady has to cut squad and costs to prepare for L2. Mitch is out of contract, it makes sense to tell him he can leave this window so he’s busy sorting out a new club. No point playing him and potentially getting an injury.Thats not good for club or player. Mitch leaving leaves s2 RB’s in John and Gabriel, both are under contract next season plus Ben Lomax. Granted Gabriel was poor last week but he’s a better player than Mitch.

Paton had opportunities to stake his place in the team and has not taken them. He’s looked out of his depth in L1 for me. He certainly doesn’t fit into managers formation and another who is leaving if a suitable deal can be found. Expect him to be loaned out and we bring in another player on deadline day.

Brady has to find the balance of long term plan, cutting squad costs whilst making us competitive. Impossible task.

Results and recruitment wise I will cut Brady some slack however tactics and game management I will not.

Unconvinced so far by him on that front.

Team selection today is horrible btw.

Whoever the manager is, he can only pick from a limited personnel, who non of them are any good.

Not sure how Ojo keeps his place either. If I was Walters I’d be handing in a transfer request.

At least Shipley has been <ovf censored> off

I get that but I’d argue both Clark and Paton are better than the players playing in their positions today. Neither have been given a chance under Brady. Neither will command any decent fee if they go and both actually effort in which can’t be said about most of the others.
