Yates set to sign new deal

I think Adam is okay at fullback, certainly not the worse player in the squad. What I do have an issue with (be it with Yates, Owen Loft etc) is that the chairman should not be re-signing players a new manager might not want, unless the new manager is already in place in Grew or Horsefield. He NEVER learns. It is also nice to see he gets his best mates lad signed up first, well done Bill!

Didn't Yates join us in between Glover's and Adams' reign? So in effect he's been signed twice by Bratt??

Jeez! A player re-signs, states he wants to stay with us for the rest of his career, is one of our better players (apart from the last 3 or 4 games) and all the majority of people on here can do is moan, criticise and snipe. It was the same yesterday: a thread was started to discuss Doug Loft's recent injury and ended with some ******** about how the current board has a long history in signing injury prone players. Utter rubbish!

What should the board do? Let all our players leave? I'm glad Yates is staying with us - he's a player that obviously cares about the team/ club and has progressed nicely over the last yeay or two. You think the board are damaging the club? What about people like you lot, who can only ever bore us all with your negativity? Yates has done very little wrong this season (certainly no more than any other player) yet all you lot can do is whinge and try and blame the board yet again. **** off.

I was supporting the B&G campaign but I'm starting to think again when people are constantly behaving in such an irritatingly vile, negative, malicious, spiteful, pathetic way.

When Mo takes charge Adam will be left on the sidelines when the Vale get promoted to L 1.

2 years is a good deal for Adam.

1 year would be best for the Vale.

Board have no business brain.

Mmmm er, I mean no brain for anything.

Mmmm could be wrong there. Maybe not as thick as I thought; they are making good money for doing nothing.

I agree with you that he has had a good season, but do you think he is a decent league 1 player, if we were to go up??. i think thats what people are aiming at.

No the board should have started the advertising of the managers post and be interviewing suitable candidates who would then decide who goes and who stays. Bratt says appointing a manager isn't a priority and will be discussed at a board meeting in the future. They have made the mistake of signing players before only for the incoming manager not wanting them and be hamstrung with them.

This isn't fantasy football and as good as we or Bratt think these players are, a new man might have other better candidates. It really is that simple for me Mr H, although personally I would have offered the players offered contracts new ones to.

Gary Neville. Player / Manager?

In the words of Blackadder - "I would rather sit on top of a stepladder in no-man's land, smoking numerous cigars through a luminous balaclava [than have him anywhere near our club]".
