Match Thread - Port Vale v Plymouth Argyle

Featured Replies

Honestly I’m struggling to even put together a summary of that game. Plymouth were absolutely there for the taking – probably as poor a side as we’ll face all season – and they’ll be going home laughing because we were every bit as bad. It was just a dire game between two teams doing everything they could to hand the initiative back to the other.

But I don’t even want to dwell on the result today. My concern is much deeper than another shambolic 90 minutes. If we don’t make the change we clearly need, we all know exactly where this is heading.

It’s obvious now that Darren Moore isn’t the man to take us forward. He was miles off it in 23/24 when he couldn’t stop the slide, he did well last season in League Two, to get us back up, with one of the bigger budgets – but let’s be honest, we never really convinced. And this year in League One he’s picked up exactly where he left off 18 months ago: we don’t score, we don’t create, we don’t have any structure going forward, we can’t defend – it’s just not good enough.

Thirty-four League One games under him and only five wins. Five. That’s embarrassing at this level.

Carol, please do the right thing. Give yourself and the fans the best chance of staying in League One, because it’s painfully obvious that sticking with Moore is sending us straight back to League Two. This isn’t working, and everyone can see it.

Thinking connor hall and jesse are league one level is a sackable offence in itself

Was always going to be the case. To only add one centre back was laughable.
Weve been starting games with hall, Debrah and Henneghan. Stinks of league 2

What a great way to commemorate 150 years of our club. Mind numbing football, leading to defeat after defeat creating a soulless atmosphere in Vale Park. Maybe we’d have been better off staying down in L2 for an extra season and made our 150th season a promotion one instead 😁

Come on Carol , Pull The Trigger 🙏 ffs

If they dare put up a post match interview ill <ovf censored> riot

What worries me, is that DM has damaged this club so much, that it will be an almost impossible task to salvage anything from this season.  He has presided to take us to take us to a worse state than Crosby did and that's some achievement. The next manager will need to be given loads of slack and a miracle dust to turn this rabble around.

Well I was going to waste 100 quid on coming back to watch Vale Vs Bristol rovers in the cup but that game has made my mind up ,I'll spend 50 Smackers in spoons getting pissed instead, sometime good comes from bad 😉🤣🤣🍺🍺🍺🍺

I’ll be there as long as Moore is gone, if he’s still here then not a chance for me, won’t even watch the match in my local which is full of Rovers fans.

Moore went straight down the tunnel, dunna worry he’s a gonner!
