Match Thread: Port Vale v Cardiff City

Featured Replies

Fancy us to win this game, thought we’d lose to Rotherham and beat Cardiff, big club for division one but I’ll be very surprised if they bounce back, not a particularly strong team despite now being in division one. Play like we did second half yesterday then should beat them by 3 or 4.

Based on DMs comments in the post match interview I can see him persevering with 343 for the next few games. Seems to suggest that the players didn't execute the '3 number 9s' approach

I think Thursday will be without Stockley whatever formation he plays so you would hope that Tolaj will be in the middle of the 3 if he chooses that set up and you need Curtis in there after his performance when he came on yesterday.

If Clark has issues(injury wise) then I guess John will fill in there and Gordon for Headley

I love positivity but you really think we will beat Cardiff by 3 or 4?? I mean I really hope we do that would be fantastic but I am struggling to see it myself even if we play how we did in the second half

Stockley will be assessed but tbh I can't see him featuring on Thursday and I suspect we will also know more about Ruari's injury after the match as well.

Ahhhh I love your optimism but Cardiff are a stronger team than Rotherham,I'll be happy with a draw as I think Cardiff will be up there at the end of the season IMO 🤔

Agreed. I thought Cardiff looked decent on Saturday on TV. Pass the ball around nicely. Im not sure people have realised the difference in quality from last year we are up against. Play like the second half and it will be a tough game. Play like the first half and we will be in trouble.

Where was Rauri Paton and Walters yesterday .

Got a big squad but the way to go is 3 in midfield and one just ahead and Tolaj leading the line with Stockley if available ,if he isnt then why not let Rico Richards lead line with Tolaj .

For thurs id make a fair few changes ,injuries permitting

Id go

      Marosi

Clark John Humpries Hall

       Byers Ojo Croasdale

R Richards (Walters if Stockley injured )

Tolaj Stockley (if injured R Richards if Paton injured ).

More legs in midfield more control and more darting from all over the shop .

Its the  way go, so if can fall on it with ten men ,then with  11 just keep doing as yesterday, Hall  like i say more than good enough join in and get forwards .

UTV

Gordon may replace Headley but id perservere with the 3 man midfield especially against the talent that Colwill possesses .

Should be a incredible atmosphere

Cardiff fans are generally (away )

Excellent

Ruari picked up an injury in training on the Friday @Dipepa delightand I imagine he hadn't have done he might have started yesterday, Darren in the post match interview with Phil said that "We'll have to see what the extent of that is and we'll hopefully find out by next week and go from there". So, I imagine that we will know more about the extent of his injury either before or after the Cardiff game but hopefully he isn't out for long as I want to see how well he does in L1. I imagine it must have been so frustrating for him to get injured on the Friday as he would have been raring to go.

I’m a member but thanks to Sky and their Thursday night plans, I can’t get there. Still the money off means I’m still better off as a member.

Do you still get some priority on away tickets and in demand games?

Tell him to try The Leopard

Can’t see Alnwick having a pre match beer there.

Can anybody clarify electronic season ticket question for me? I have not received any emails with any new tickets to add to my apple wallet so do I just use the one from last year or should I contact the ticket office?

Thanks in advance

I don't think they're a great team, but they do have a few very good individuals for the level.

Start hesitant and give them too much respect as we did Rotherham in the first half and it could very well be two back to back losses. But play as we did in the second, and hopefully with 11 men, and we have absolutely nothing to fear and have every chance.

When we play on the front foot and you see our players all busting a gut, as they did in the second 45 yesterday, it makes any losses that much easier to swallow.

Contact the ticket office. Mine didn’t get sent out either but emailed them and they sent me the email with the QR code to download the same day.

Got a big squad

Think you answered it mate. 18 can be selected, we got more than that so people will miss out.

Gonna get very tiring playing this game of 'why did X miss out' when we have a squad bigger than 18 players.
