All this talk of attendances is annoying.

 

How anyone can be disapointed at 3000 st holders, gates of 4500+ with tinpot away followings, and bearing in mind we are in the fourth tier with 20 quid a pop prices, is beyond me.

 

Historically our crowds having been much higher and apart from a cheap st offer it hasnt been higher for the past decade! I put the average attendances of the last decade on another thread and never got challenged. I dont see how many more "Vale fans" there are UNTIL, like any club, we start winning football matches against fashionable sides regularly.

 

A great turnout yesterday for the fourth division and the **** we have put up with. Credit to those who were there.

The away teams are not really "local" this season which is going to cost us on the following they bring. I would guess chesterfield, burton, Bradford and maybe fleetwood could be up there with yesterday. We need to aim realistically at 5k + home fans and the away team are the added bonus.

 

Does the JPT money get split down the middle after expenses?

Our attendance was the 6th highest of the day and 2nd behind Oxford in our division.

2 decent results in the next 2 away games should see us pull in a decent crowd versus Gillingham.

I always say that fans will come back once a team starts winning their home games...........

There was more than that there today. The Paddock looked full as did the Lorne Street apart from a few seats.

Totally agree,some people like to think we are far bigger than we actually are,we have NEVER had a really large fan base,what were attendances when we were last having a sting in division 4??

Superb,thanks for that great piece of research.

So in the last 30 years we have averaged over 5,000 in 16 seasons and 9 of those were when we were in the Championship.

I reckon we are doing ok in this league.

looking from our position on sat the crowd was bang on . the only difference being a few more in the bycars . if we can get 4 points from the next two away games we should see at least 500 more vale fans at the next game.
