On a separate note: anyone know anything about Stafford Rangers - how they're set up and are they financially stable...??  Genuine reason for asking.

Please DM me if you do.  Thanks

The league has a very mid 2000s league 1 feel to it, with Huddersfield, Blackpool, Luton, Reading, Bradford all pretty typical league 1 opposition in this era. The only club we have not been too familiar with in recent years has been Cardiff. The rest have been pretty natural opposition for us at one point or another.

So, fixtures are out in 2 days time – cant wait.

Looking forward to the other players DM brings in – by the sounds of things it will be 4 or 5 players, a GK and then some bodies to strengthen the front end.  I still think DM/Carol will bring in a couple of (good) surprises and I’m also expecting one, maybe two good loans on/around deadline day.

What would I love this season.  If DM served up 16 wins, 16 draws to give us 64 points and put us just inside the Top-10, plus a good run in at least one cup, together with getting through 2 or 3 rounds of the FA Cup then I’d be happy.  Then DM to put the icing on the cake and bring in 2 decent names in the New Year window.  That would be a very good return to EFL1 for me.

That would set us up for a push in 26/27 towards the Championship.

If I wanted to be really greedy, I’d love to see Stjoke finally get relegated and join us in EFL1, then we get promoted beating them at Wembley the following year in the play-offs.

What you guys after next season…??

Taking the record for most points in a season with 114, after securing automatic promotion with 8 games still to go.

But I'd happily settle for any position in the middle third of the EFL1 table in our first season back.

I think it says a lot that there's only 3 grounds next season that I haven't been to before, and two of those are teams that we've played quite a few times in the last 15 years or so. I think it'll be down to vert fine margins as to whether we'll be looking over our shoulders or pushing for one of the final playoff spots come April. A mid-table of 16 teams could be very tightly grouped I reckon (much like the Championship in recent years).

Cardiff, Peterborough, Stevenage?

14th will do me next season consolidation is key but I wouldn't mind a decent cup run and a flirtation with the play offs before settling for 14th with 55-60 points.

luton cardiff huddersfield will be new ones for me

That’s my point. Aside from Cardiff, the rest we have played very often. In recent times.
