Just think, this time next we'll be chewing over the fixtures for next season and arguing about which matches/games will be the best, how the EFL have screwed us with this match and that match...

Can't wait. ❤

This time next week you mean? lol. Don't forget the added interest of booking holidays to avoid missing home matches only for the game to be moved to a Thursday at the last minute 🙂

Which clubs will claim International Breaks another factor in the lottery.

Its about time they made it proper International breaks - ie If you play in English Football League then it should be the Number of English players you have absent who decide if you can cancel matches . Why the stoke does having someone from say Tristan Da Cunha mean our league should be fcucked about . Soon We'll need to find the Family history of every one we sign in case their great great Grandad was irish , or scots, or Iranian, or a God Damned Yank . If the Premiership want to do it then that's up to them but the EFL should say - sod it, and get on with the league . Its bad enough with the TV altering fixtures to help the odds on bets.

If L1 had International Breaks it would mean a longer season or more night games, I don't know how many games did get played making it worth while not having a break. I assume it a decision L1 clubs can make.

Jack Charlton was exceptionally good at finding a player's previously unknown Irish ancestory.

We could potentially be in the international break pot, Gordon plays for is it Guyana? Only need one more for a game to be off, if requested.

Didn't we call one off because of Arblaster and Devine and then lost the rearranged game anyway.

Absolutley - and I think they were UNDER 21s  matches they went to - Let them go by all means but do not reschedule proper league matches just so someone can go and have a jolly and sit on a bench rather than playing mens football.   Also they were both LOAN players so our matches were disrupted for someone who wasn't even our players .

League 1 and 2 (aka 3rd and 4th Divisions) should be exempt from International match rescheduling , its their own fault if they chose to employ 3rd world internationals. If it continues it will be pointless publishing the full fixture lists as they will have to put small print at the bottom saying "Only the first Match is actually date/time fixed due to various Tv rights, and the need to support 3rd world internationals".  Even then they will have to add a PS ..... "Oh and some day one  matches will be moved forward and some back but we are not sure which as we will need to check with the bookies to see who they rank as big promotion favourites".

International breaks for 3rd and 4th division.... total waste of time

His mantra was if their nana came across during the tatter famine all her descendants were full blown Irish. The other acceptance criteria was "has the person seen or heard of a shamrock".  It was so funny watching his, and his players, interviews - so many different ENGLISH regional accents . Some wag once said that they had to find at least ONE proper irish player who could string a sentence together just to prove that the true  Irish were eligible to play for Jack.

I'd go a step further and ban rescheduling outright. If the clubs need to fill the positions use some youngsters.

So much of the fixture congestion talk at the higher levels is fixated on this idea that teams play a first XI mainly and we should protect that as much as possible. With so many sub places now and teams having squads they should damn well use them.

"Fixture release day takes place on Thursday, 26 June 2025, with fixtures released at 12:00pm"

Three days to go.

Predictions for the opening fixture?

I'll go for Stockport away on Saturday 2nd August.

No reason, just want something footballish to chew on.

Walsall are a league below us.

I'd love Exeter (a) or Cardiff (a)
