As to the topic, if we do sign someone I hope it's someone who can hit the ground running (not someone who is either injured or coming back from injury or indeed injury prone!).

If we don't sign anyone I for one won't throw my toys out of the pram but I hope the gaffer can get the forwards we have fit and scoring sooner rather than later.

A source close too the club says we have signed 2 strikers permanent and one cb hope its not daddy s sauce .

Hello , regular reader very infrequent poster. Out of interest to the "don't panic if we don't sign anyone brigade" . I'm panicking big time. Where in the current squad are we going to get 50 goals from this season? Maybe stockley 10 to 15 depending on fitness,  where are the other goals coming from playing in this fairly negative formation.  BTW I'm not trying to upset or wind anyone up on here. Cheers 

Those saying what proven strikers should we go for. Cole, jatta, tovide would be 3 I would look at. 

We have this so called brilliant recruitment team and DMs list of contacts. We should be able to find a forward who is proven to score goals with 1m to play with. They don’t have to be 20/25 a season strikers as they will be out of our budget; but someone who isn’t coming here for experience or who has only played in under 21 football / tin pot trophy.

How is the formation negative considering how many attempts we have had so far this season?

I’ll be very shocked and pleasantly surprised if that is true 

I've been surprised by the lack of game time Rico has had. Criminal in some ways in a side that lacks punch in attack but we perhaps don't play a system he'd thrive in? Then that begs the question why did we sign him? Genuinely feel for the lad as he has a goal in him and I don't often feel sorry for footballers. Paton similarly if we don't sign anyone (or he doesn't leave) deserves a chance you'd think. Can he do any worse than 2 goals out of nearly 90 shots?

When the question was posed about what is a proven goalscorer, I was thinking of you but couldn’t remember your full username. Anyway I just imagined Danny Devito explaining that Devante Cole is the answer.

Alright if we are knit picking,about it not being a negative formation, my personal view. We are having all these many , many chances but not scoring . What does that tell you . It tells me that we have not got one clinical finisher at our disposal at the moment.  We do need one asap. Thanks but that's my opinion,  if I'm allowed one

I reckon the club has already signed someone, though and they will keep you mithering till 10 to 7 then they will announce it

If werent going do any business, surely you tell your mithered support, because they care asap, as i think its downright cruel, too have folk scrolling all day and hoping Vale get a proper good striker or strikers in .

I personally cannot be doing with this day, im off back too sleep then off gym and swim .
