Who do we play next week as during the interview i am sure it was said a couple of games next week unless I didn't hear right,I know about Leek but who is the other one?

If I remember rightly there was an interview with DM where he said there was a friendly with Coventry but presume that’s going to be behind closed doors.

Played more than 200 games as a professional at the age of 26, the vast majority above League 2, and anyone with a footballing brain can see he's woeful. Except those professional managers who have selected him more than 200 times!!!!! No-one that good in the PDSL when I played.

The vast majority above league 2?

Sorry but if you put Ross County in league 2 they’d be woeful. And out of his over 200 games played, over 130 of them were for Ross County.

The last time he was in league 2 was with Oldham. They finished 19th that season.

Hes always an accident ready to happen in a game.
Darren Moore is a defender.
He’s certainly got more than half a footballing brain.
He will be gone because he’s not very good.

He’s <ovf censored>. We saw that plenty of times last season

Not sure if Ross County would be woeful in League 2 to be honest.  League 1 maybe.

Got to be joking.
Apart from Celtic and Rangers, who wouldn’t get promoted out of the championship, the rest of them are league 1, league 2 and worse.
And Ross County are always down at the bottom.

Good luck to Alex in making a career but he’s nowhere near good enough for the English league.
Im not Nathan Smiths biggest fan because he can’t do much other than head, kick and be a nasty piece of work.
Iacovitti is nowhere near Nathan Smiths level and never will be.

A move to a steady national league side and a good career for him in non league is best for all parties.

Not joking.  League 2 is pretty dire, as we’ve seen, it’s miles off League 1.  Nathan Smith looks more than competent at league 2 level, not so much in league 1.  He’s not alone on that score.  Iacovitti will have been testing himself against Celtic & Rangers whilst our players were facing Accrington and FGR.  No disrespect to those 2 teams by the way. Incidentally, how many times do the teams in the Jock Prem play each other?

I thought he was decent at the beginning of the season but struggled on his return from injury thereafter.

He looked a bag of nerves as like all the other CB’s. I don’t think he was any worse than Smith,Debrah or Jones last season. They were all equally <ovf censored>.

Fortunately the rest of the team made up for him.

I thought he was always poor but got away with it because the fans chanted his name. I thought he was as bad (if not worse) than jones on the ball and a very average defender. I’d get rid but he’s probably league 2 level so not really fussed but we’ve already signed a much better player in Hall

"A practice game" he says here so presumably a behind closed doors game - this is a different interview to the club one

He was no worse than Smith, Debrah or anyone else, they all had an unforced error in them.  Funnily enough though we now seem stacked out with left sided central defenders, Yak, Hall and Jones.  Watching Hall in the last 2 friendlies should remind folk of just how much more comfortable he was (is) on the ball than any of the other central defenders, plus he’s a decent defender at this level.  I’d trust Smith and Hall to be the most consistently reliable performers, that’s not suggesting they’re the best partnership, Moore will have to look at his options.

I think we are starting to see Darren Moore’s thinking in terms of players’ positions on the pitch.

Tom Sang played right back both games. I think that could suit him - not a RWB but a full back - good on the ball and has help around him defensively ie not on his own out wide.

Connor Grant played CM against NT and I thought he looked good. I was disappointed not to see him there again today but I suppose they were looking at the trialist in the middle who I thought had a half decent game.

I think we will sign Wynne and give competition to Hart.

Two left footed CB’s in Dan Jones and Connor Hall, two right sided in Smith and Debrah. All could slot into playing a three. Interesting about that lack of Yak.

Tolaj seemed to play in behind/a little deeper than the number 9 in the 4-2-3-1 so I guess that could be how we get both him and Stockley on the side - but then one of Garrity, Curtis and, best player for me so far, Chislett miss out - unless Garrity drops deeper but I don’t see that happening as he would have tried that in one of these friendlies perhaps.

Shorrock and Plant both getting minutes as wingers was a massive positive too.

Cantvtake much out of these types of games but I’m feeling quietly confident going into the season already.

I think Wynne was always more likely to sign than not. He's been around the team for a few months. He's also got experience on the left and right as a fullback and wingback, as well as at left centrehalf.

Personal preference with Garrity is to play him in the centre of the 3 in a 4231. If we play that formation I think Moore will play him as one of the 2.

Listened to both Moore's interviews. People maybe reading too much into the Lacovitti situation.  He also said they haven't really started to work on shape so I'd guess these games were more about putting an 11 on the pitch and then picking a formation.  There are certain players you can be sure will start the first league game but still a lot of positions up for grabs. Clark, Hall, Smith, Garrity,  Tolaj, Curtis, Chislett, Stockley are all players I'd be very surprised not to feature in the first game.

Went to the Kidsgrove game expecting to see some goals.

However, Kidsgrove were excellent. Very dogged, organised and determined.

It was a great workout for us.

Tolaj was dangerous and lively, although he should have scored at least 1.

Midfielders and defence were steady.

Still think we're lacking a bit of creativity.

Another couple of wingers needed for me.

I think Debrah on what I saw v NT will develop well with Hall by his side

Hall just brings out the best in everyone .

As for Icavetti love the song .

Was he good enough , times he was in fact on par with majority of others..
