Sam Morsy

Today hopefully Sam will secure promotion to the Premier League having been voted Ipswich Town’s player of the season. It seems an age ago since he was at Vale and was left out in the cold by Micky Adams. Although MA was a fantastic manager for Vale, shunning Morsy was his biggest mistake. 
Well done Sam hopefully he’ll get a congratulatory text from Micky later.

Really hope he goes on to complete the job today and would expect they will. Always a huge fan of Sam and as you say I think if Micky Adams had his second spell all over again this is one I think he’d want back.

Micky taught him a lesson that has helped make him the player/person he is today. I suspect neither will regret it, at least not Mickey.

Not sure what lesson that was. He was just a young lad who get sent off. Was a fantastic talent.

He would of left Vale not long after regardless, fantastic player & deserves his shot in the big time. I’m saying he gets at least 3 red cards next season 😅 what an unbelievable job Kieran McKenna has done back to back promotions into the premier league 👏

Got away with one against Oxford live on the telly. Wasn’t so lucky a few weeks later against Rochdale.

Was it Grew who called him a coward on the radio?

How Ipswich have progressed is mind-blowing and the opposite to what we've done since playing them in our first season in League One.We managed to lose by the odd goal in both our league games to a team that will now join the Premier League.Congratulations to both Sam Morsy and Ipswich Town.UTV

He left Chesterfield after 2 and a half seasons, having Captained them to the league 1 playoffs.  Chesterfield got a lot more money than we did from selling him.

It was Adams who did it. Was a rash tackle which he was prone to but Adams was wrong to do it so publicly at the time and Morsy barely played for weeks after.

Ipswich now promoted to the Premier League. Congrats to Sam especially. Hard to think we were actually making them work really hard to beat us just over a year ago and now look at where both of us are.

True, my point being he was never going to stay at a club like Port Vale for too long. Was always destined for better things

Congratulations to Ipswich and Sam. Assuming he stays at Ipswich I think he'll be the first Vale player to progress to The Premiership since Anthony Gardner in 2000.

Can’t see any reason whatsoever why he won’t be representing Ipswich in the top flight next season

That wasn't the view of many fans at the time who thought Anthony Griffiths was a better player (hard to believe). He's the most successful player who had played for the club over the last 15 years. 5 promotions, 3 as captain, one world cup, 170 Championship games mainly as Captain. I think we got 20000 as a transfer fee. I don't think there was even a percentage of the fee when Wigan bought him.
