The Port Vale women's team are still in with a chance of promotion. They play exciting football and score quite a few goals. 4 games left I think. I am sure they would appreciate any support and it is only £4 in at Kidsgrove. Good beer and you can watch the match while you drink it too.

A bludy good shout, up the vale lassies!

Can't argue with that.

It's what the fans were asking for...an apology and we have got that so fair play, sadly we cant turn the clock back so have to move forward from now... I am 100% certain although many dont think so that she will back DM with some decent funds this summer,so lets give her and DM the chance to rebuild and try and give it a go in what is a tough league to get out of(as we know)

You say you’ve lost confidence in DM,

then go on to say we have an abysmal squad, given that the transfer window is closed so he couldn’t change the squad even if he wanted to, what is he supposed to do.

Much better than he did. I'm sure Crosby would have, people like Clarke definitely would have. Not for me.

So Darren’s sticking around. I think we’ll have a competitive budget.

You would think so and i guess he was promised a good budget if we had stayed up as well

It obviously wont be him(although some good strikers have dropped down leagues for a decent wage) but i would love us to bring in a Michael Smith/Lee Gregory type striker in League Two,as you would expect them to score a good amount of goals at that level alongside of Dipepa(who even at his age i think will start a lot more next season, hoping to cash in at some point)

It’s pretty <ovf censored> obvious she knows she has made mistakes

Some of u seriously need have a look at yourselves keep bangin on and beating her about a letter who really gives a <ovf censored> about it it made absolutely no difference to anything

It isn't just the letter though is it. There are a lot more examples that as owner she has overseen and been responsible for, that have upset supporters in one way or another. I for one, being a long term ST holder have taken a good look at myself and decided along with with a few others I'd imagine will not be renewing. Those actions speak louder than words.

I genuinely bought in to the Shanahan's, events of the last 12 months have tarnished that. Many things have contributed to my thoughts on and off the pitch. I have a big decision to make after 49 years. I've had enough and feel totally disillusioned with all at the Vale top to bottom. The culture and ideals at the top have seeped through to the playing side, leaving a rotten underbelly and supporters alienated.

She lost me when she backed Moore again. Loyalty Carol backing the wrong horse again.

Not a dig,so you ditch a manager with like it or not a proven track record(not given time at Huddersfield to rebuild, they are still bottom 3 without him) after 16/17 games with NONE of his own players at all? Totally agree with everyone that the football has been very very poor maybe even worse and sadly for him he isn't the Adams type manager at interviews that some demand(it's what happens behind closed doors thats important to me).

We all have differing views on managers that come to Vale BUT one thing i will always do is give them a chance with their OWN squad and see where we go from there. only my opinion of course and again we all differ so i respect your views also

Onwards and Upwards me owd fruits

It's the sign of a bad leader when they can't admit to their mistakes.

We all know appointing Flitcroft WAS a mistake.

We all know that patronising letter belittling Vale fans WAS a mistake.

She's really missed a trick not apologising for those, which I think would have got the majority of Vale fan back on her side.

Agreed.

By so publicly saying Flitcroft was NOT a mistake last time for this latest statement to mean anything it had to be covered, as well as the condescending tone of the last one.   It’s like receiving a letter of complaint but then totally ignoring what the complaint was about in your response!

This statement was not knocked up after the final whistle, it would have been typed and ready to go after much consideration as to the wording.

It does not admit to mistakes not covered in the last statement, which for me makes this a ‘save face without backing down’ response.  It only adds apologies for the results, which in themselves I do not blame Carol for - but does not address the issues that we were all warning her about that led to these poor results and ultimately surrendering our League 1 statues without a whimper.

in summary, a Corporate rather than heartfelt apology for me - CS probably still thinks she was right in her initial response, and has not backtracked from it one iota with this latest missive - which in turn raises concerns regarding future strategy setting!

calling for an owner to leave who is actually financially propping up the club rather than taking it for all it’s worth, is not the solution in my mind.

It’s not only not the solution, it’s an absolutely mental suggestion with no appreciation for the state of lower league football at the minute - considering we’ve removed 2 sets of owners in the last 12 years, too.

Sorry m8. Have to call this out as bollox.

The club has been left in a pitiful state by Smurf and others. It is ramshackle and falling apart at the seems with many parts of the ground in a condemned state.

Carol has had ZERO choice but to put in much needed funds to get the stadium in a fit state - even then we get his with unforeseen things like the paddock bogs that need doing. It's never ending.

Shes done wonders for this club since being here. Has she made some big mistakes - absolutely and admits that. But it's never ever good enough for some people. They're just going to hate.

If you don't want to go and watch the Vale that's your choice. I will continue and be a supporter.

You could always turn left or right on the 500 if you prefer. Many have done so in the past.

Not sure she has a choice. If he’s not walking, and there is no break clause, then she HAS to back him. Can’t afford to pay him off.

It seems like 'mistake after mistake'. DM is not the answer, Hate to say it.

What could she have said different ..??

Here's a challenge for you - go and get her letter and rewrite it completely as you believe it should be written and post it here.

Looking forward to it.
