Unpopular I know but foundations laid by Flitcroft selling Vale to PL clubs for PL2 players to get the better loan lads has paid dividends with this signing.

I'm not sure there's any link at all.

West Ham have loaned a player to Cheltenham.

Southampton have loaned players to Cheltenham, Accrington, and MK.

Chelsea have loaned a player to Doncaster.

Palace have loaned a player to Wimbledon.

And there's more who have gone to the likes of Shrewsbury in the league above.

They're just looking for teams who will give their players minutes.

Nothing but good wishes for the lad, he deserves much better luck.

Yep. Poor bugger couldn't buy any luck

One rule of thumb I always hold to is that when folk say 'he's far too good for your league', and 'I don't know how you've signed him', they're over-egging it as if they were truly 'too good for our league' then they wouldn't have signed for us.Players don't sign for clubs out of altruism.

I rate BBB but let's wait and see before anointing him too good for League 2 on the basis of Brighton fans who have no idea as to the quality of the leagie.

Really sad news about Mitch, now we must  focus  on the need to get someone in this window.

Hopefully this lad from Brighton can make the step up to playing regularly and consistently. Hes obviously got the talent about him to be on the verge of Brighton’s first team.

I don’t remember Vale loaning hot prospects from premier league clubs before the Flitcroft era myself 🤔

We’ve just signed 10 permanently & you have to come on & moan that we’ve brought in 1 loan. Really? A loan by the way who made 5 premier league appearances last season! It’s a very promising signing. Get back under your rock Bill

I know I shouldn't rise to this attention seeking but this is a ridiculous comment. The issue is when you make it your sole strategy as we tried last season and it comes back to bite you. No harm in doing this to supplement what are already some exciting attacking options, all of which are permanent players.

We didn’t have relationships with clubs to get those loans prior to Flitcroft. It’s no coincidence the level of player we have brought in and those last year. Prior to last season our have loans have generally been <ovf censored> with lads to making up numbers on a work experience loan to see what professional football looks like of you don’t make it.

It’s the scouting foundations and relationships Flitcroft built selling Port Vale that’s made the difference to the quality of player.

Why is it nonsense? It's a useful string to the clubs bow to be well connected with bigger clubs for loanees. Last season the mistake of making it our main source of recruitment was made. If used to compliment our permanent players it should prove useful.

I cannot remember anyone saying that when we signed Ray Walker or Tony Sealy on loan ! Time to recognize how useful loan signings can be if used properly if strengthening a squad and as long as you are not building your team around them !!!
