I can't see how anyone would keep Jones over Iacovitti and Cass!? Swap those around in someway and you're not far off what I'd be looking to do either!  Jones can't pass, head or tackle, poor injury record and wasn't very good in league two last time! Get rid, a true liability of a footballer! 
Tbh none of our defenders last season particularly covered themselves with glory so Smith is a lucky boy he's contracted as well imo but he wasn't bad in league two previously so that probably just saves him.
Wynne we can't really judge as we've not seen him play but we need an out and out left back so would make sense in someways to give him a chance.  Uche I can see the physicality side of his game being useful but we can't afford 2 forwards who don't score(him and Loft) so that's my issue there.  Loft simply has to be moved on if Uche stays.

Cass has never broken through at league 2 level, didn't play consistently for us, didn't for Stockport either. Because he's not good enough.

Yak is probably one of the worst centre halves I've clapped eyes on. Since his injury he's been worse than non-league. Won't be cheap either, if I remember right we were apparently fighting off other league 1 teams for him (bet those other teams are buzzing now)

Ideally I'd get all three out, but Jones is the least bad option for me.

All opinions I guess, Jones is truly one of the worst footballers I've ever seen in 30 odd years of watching the game.  His performance at Barnsley on the opening day was embarassing, he's non league standard and his career stats would suggest that.  Cass I thought was half decent the first half of our promotion season before he got injured and I personally have seen far worse than Iacovitti he must have something to have played for the 1 or 2 of the clubs he has.  Like I said though I could honestly clear out 90% of our defence from last season and not lose sleep over it, I do agree though we probably aren't going to get rid of all of them so will have to make do and mend with 3 or 4 most likely.

Whoever ratified a 2 year deal for Jones(and a few others tbh) ought to be strung up by the short and curlies from the floodlights.

We got yak from Ross County bare in mind, who limped to survival in the SPL. Not sure what clubs your thinking of outside of that, his 24 games at Oldham??

Like you say, as many as we can get out the better.

Yak will be fine in L2. Grant will have more time to pick a pass and the pace of the game is slower. I'm not saying keep them but they can contribute in L2.

Ojo will look like Pirlo if his head is on right.

Like you say, as many as we can get out the better.

I'd generally say the SPL(or bottom end of it) is our League One standard and he managed pretty much 3 full seasons for them and came through the ranks at Forest with a few games for the first team.  I'm not saying he's good, far from it but I'd much rather have that experience than Jones if I had to pick one or the other.

Lets be honest it's like arguing which is worse constipation or diarrhoea!  I don't envy some of the job Moore has to do if I'm honest!💩

He played 22 times for us in our last promotion season, rarely put a foot wrong that year. We aren't in league one anymore.

Like I say, we can't realistically get rid of everyone. If some have to stay, I don't think Jones is the worst player to keep around.

It's funny how we all differ on opinions. I thought he was dreadful in our promotion season and people mistook the fact that he could play the odd crossfield ball as actually being good. I was aghast that we extended his contract.

This season, when fit, has shown him up to be what he is....a non league player.

Regards Grant I put him in the same bracket with Sang. I only want them as centre mid options and they’d both be worthwhile I think then. They cannot and must not be wingbacks for us next season, seen enough of that experiment to last a lifetime.

Blimey I'd forgotten one or two of them(probably just as well!!😁).  I can't remember Wilson playing much at all tbh but wiki says he managed 7 games for us, he'd had 2 or 3 decent spells for other clubs before playing for Vale.  Somewhat similarly(although the other way around) Jules has also gone on to have a decent lower league career elsewhere since(he scored against us the other week to rub it in as well!!) although admittedly he was shocking for us but I reckon both of them could perhaps be down to them either not feeling it in relatively short spells or poor management as both showed ability elsewhere.  So I'd probably rank those 2 nearer the bottom of the list. I'd have to rank Mills, Jones and Fitzpatrick higher as they made more appearances.

It's actually tough to compare like for like with some of them as it could be argued some were more left sided CBs than actual full backs.  I also said Jones was one of the worst players I've ever seen not necessarily the worst.  I could probably name a few more to add to that list if you gave me time as well. 

We've had some shockers since good old Allen Tankard on the left side of defence!

He was bang average. He didn’t make a lot of mistakes tho but never did anything great either. Just a mediocre player for us

Definately, I think sometimes we tend to label some players as worse than they are because they were part of a poor side in general or vice versa some players may not actually have been that good but because they were part of a more successful side they get away with it.

Jones has been part of both and I still don't rate him so I'm not sure what that tells us?😁

I agree with all of that.

After seeing how many players we still have under contract I have had to resign myself to the fact that some of the players I would like us to offload will probably still be here next season but my non negotiable is Jones, he is absolute garbage. I will be unhappy if lowe, grant and one or two others are still her but if Jones is still here I will cry real tears 😁
