An Open Letter from Carol

How does Carol come back from this?

1. Very clear, simple message when we go down admitting that serious mistakes were made, that the fans should have been listened to, and lessons have been learned. Make the fans feel heard.

2. Flitcroft sacked ASAP with a new DoF installed before the end of the season ahead of the summer. We can’t trust him anymore, and the DoF needs time to prepare for a crucial summer in which we cannot do a Forest Green.

3. No phrases, cliches, slogans. No faffing about on anything apart from essential stuff for the average fan. Want Need Expect. Championship Ready. Get rid. Budget reoriented to build a solid League 2 team with experience of success at the level.

4. Engage with the average fan again moving forward. Meet with Mark Porter and the SC on a regular basis. Stay in touch with the common plebs. We may be a bit emotional at times, but we see things from a different angle.

5. Never, ever get ahead of yourself again. Just have a relentless focus on winning games of football. The rest will come. Every season, the focus should be on improving the league position from last season, above anything else.

There is enough residual goodwill towards the Shanahans that they can easily rebuild from this. What would be a disaster is a doubling down on the failures to this point, to protect egos.

Sincerely hope she chooses the right path as we all fundamentally want her to be successful. I feel like the old Carol who took over has gone, but I’m sure things can be worked out.

Well said Mate!

A new director of football? Want. Next. Expect.

Joe,

Once again, that is a perfect summary.  So simplistic and could repair the club virtually overnight, league position excepted, with a solid foundation to build on.  They are making life so unneccessarily complicated.

We don't want a DOF. We don't need one. Concentrate on being a football club not a corporation.

Spot on mate

The manager should have total control of the outgoings and incoming s at the club l 👍 We don't need a DOF

I think I will just wait until I am at the ground on Saturday and see if there are any new names on the team sheet. Can't be doing with the disappointment again so soon after the last lack of transfer windows.

Can't see any new faces coming in

The head of recruitment is

Clueless and incompetent.

Perhaps we don't need a Director of Football.

Maybe just a Technical Director

Or a Sporting Director.

Or an Operations Director.

Which for those of you who don't know or understand, are ABSOLUTELY DIFFERENT to a DOF. PROMISE

Bin off Fraudcroft now

And Put Rudgey in to sort out recruitment

Until the end of the season

Just looked.

We have the following

Head of Physical Performance

Head of Medical Performance

First Team Head of Analysis

Sports Scientist

First Team Physiotherapist

Sports Therapist

First Team Analyst

A Director of Football

No mention of a recruitment team

This does not include Manager, Assistant Manager and Football Coaches.

Wonder if too many cooks spoil the broth ?
