An Open Letter from Carol

Featured Replies

The one question some the posters are asking, has Vale (Vale in general - not pointing fingers at Fraudcroft or Carol) over stretched with the different foundation projects, all the teams now at Vale, the community projects Vale are involved in.  Where has the money come for these.

Has it been taken from the first team player budget, which was reported as Yr 5 ETC was spent in Yr 4.  If so this could be the downfall of Vale, as fans will drop off when we go into Div 2 again.  When teams come to Vale Park, it will be back to 100's rather than a 1000+.  So the budget will no doubt suffer, as it will need to cover all the other projects, as there wont be money from away supporters, Vale supporters not coming anymore either.

Anyone seen Carol? She's definitely disappeared.

She'll be extremely visible when we're next doing well. Seems unlikely we'll see much of her until we're in the top three in League Two

Probably true, if we do go down as well and the squad is still awful or we even dont go back up to league one within the next season, i dont know how flitcroft can keep his job, unless she takes full responsibility or a very large part.

Its going to be interesting what or who they blame.

She will blame the fans for not supporting Fraudcroft when we are in Div 2.

I get the impression we've been a great disappointment to Carol lately...

Mix the rough with the smooth. If fans cannot show discontent when it is justified then when can they?

Flitcroft this, Flitcroft that.

How about people look at the person who employed him, and continues to deludely dance to his tune, in the first place?

How long does a somewhat fortunate promotion give her credit in the bank for and make her immune to any sort of criticism or questioning?

Quite right. She has had 5 years and has failed to surpass even the dreadful Smurfwaite’s achievements.

1.) Smurfwaite oversaw a promotion without the lottery of the playoffs.

2.) Smurfwaite oversaw a far higher league 1 position than Carol’s ownership has achieved, 12th.

3.) In terms of infrastructure Smurfwaite built the impressive club shop and progressed development of the Lorne Street with the purchase of a pile of yellow seats from Watford. Carol simply installed them for the Robbie gig to look good for Cameras.

4.) Smurfwaite funded the most expensive strike force in our history when he had Pope and Hughes on the books. Lee Hughes was getting 6k per week, far more than Carol wants to pay.

Overall this idea that she saved the club is an utter sham. Smurfwaite was a nasty guy, but the whole liquidating the club thing was pure theatre to con Carol out of paying more.

A couple of things. I bet Colin Garlick bitterly regrets introducing Flitcroft to Carol. I know I do. Secondly, why was Flitcroft being interviewed for the vacant manager's position if he had no plans to be involved in football?

Maybe the interview went something along the lines of...

Carol - Why would you make a great manager of Port Vale?

Dave - I got Bury promoted from League Two once. All it took was a budget twice the size of our rivals and three times what the club could afford.
Carol - Lovely. Anything else?

Dave - Well I dunno really. I don't actually want to work in football at all.

Carol - So why did you turn up here?

Dave - I dunno, I might fancy being director of football
Carol - Are you sure that's really necessary for a club of our size in League Two?
Dave - Not really
Carol - You're hired!

She threw loads of money at him to change his mind…

That video is hilarious.  Particularly his nonsense on recruitment.
