Why? He wouldn’t be match fit & after a serious injury like that’s it’s just not worth it. There’ll be a few free agents out there that would offer us a lot more. He’s also considered retirement a few times im not even sure he wants to play anymore

Obviously things didn’t work out down the road but let’s be honest it’s not the first player or manager whose gone there and suddenly their career hits a dead end. It’s more often a Stoke issue than the individual.

Agreed mate. He was in & out of the team there as well he would get a lot more game time in a division below

Take a look at Jack Clarke and that Philogene at Hull. Both abysmal at Stoke.

Was reading an article where both were rated in the top 5 Championship players.

Stoke are a graveyard for players and managers. 

Gayle was a disaster at Stoke. One on a huge list.

Does Loft look match fit when he plays?

I think even a half fit madime would offer far more

Madine is not even 1/2 fit, plus he seems like he has had enough, too many moves, terminated contracts. semi retired.

He's not going to be able to come right in and play. Even if he's recovered from a major injury (which he may not have done) it's going to be several weeks before he's anything like fit enough to feature. 

If you need a stop-gap to fill in while Uche is out then surely they need to ready to play right now - otherwise there's no point - you're simply adding another player who will be sitting on the sidelines for some weeks.

I keep repeating myself on this and I do feel like I'm the voice of pessimism but I don't think there's a quick and easy solution to our problem in the free agent market. That's precisely why clubs bring in players during the transfer window. If it was easy to bring in players outside of the window then there wouldn't be that rush to add players on deadline day.

We messed up massively! We didn't add anyone and now there's a massive problem for us because you can't simply go out there and nab a fit, available, in-form, fits our wage structure striker because there's barely any of them and most of them have an issue (still injured, wages too high, have moved on). 

Unfortunately, our inability to add a striker during the window, even a young inexperienced kid on loan may have helped, could be an issue until Uche returns. I just hope he's somehow ahead of schedule with his recovery.

It’s the amount of time it would even take him to get upto speed mate. It’s just not worth it & unfortunately one thing we don’t have is time.

Definitely fits the demands of most fans it seems.

No doubt that DF and CS have gone for the best they can get.

Instantly, and pretty much inevitably, previous club's fans jump all over it and gleefully vent their spleen about DM's shortcomings.

We can only watch and see how things pan out. 

There are no guarantees, but imo, the club have given it their best shot, so deserve some credit.

Smalsall fans were the same about Clarke.

We were in free fall. Rodney, Brisley, Crookes, Guthrie, Mills, Whitehead, Robinson.

Won 8 out of 9 games, miraculously kept us up. Promoted the next season.

With regards to Uche. It's only been 3 weeks since his injury. Given the length of time Plant has missed with the same injury are we even likely to get more than 5 games out of him ?
