Debrah could barely stand up today. Replace him with somebody that can and shock horror we suddenly look considerably better.

Crosby really is a wolly.

They all came in the last 5/10 minutes. We did nothing until Deborah went off. Since then we’ve been a lot better.

I'm worried what happens if and when Uche goes off. We need his strength.

Devine & Wilson.are quality no doubt about it but for me defensively we are diabolical , imo ., I think the vale have got out of jail .# leave Crosby alone he's a nice guy , 😆

Yes, he was trying really hard. But no way should he have started.

Agreed. I think he’s been excellent again, loft has to do what Uche has done. He’s big enough

I dont think Charlton overall have played that much better than us - just better where they know their strengths are - ie two wingers with pace

They have a system that suits their strengths…..us on the other hand.

Their goal was absolutely frightening from a defensive point of view. If your U13's had done that you'd have gone ballistic. You can have AC out now as much as you want but for pro footballers to defend like that was criminal!

We looked scarily bad in the first half especially when we didn't have the ball....let's hope it's sorted now for this half. Come on vale we can win this!

Think we are very lucky to be level….we have been gash

PV 12 goal attempts, 6 on target. Charlton 6 and 1.

Their pace and passing is worrying us, so our defence does not look secure. But neither does theirs.

I’d agree with that. I’d say 1-1 is probably a fair reflection. The clue to winning this game was at the end of the half, put it on them a bit. They seem as soft at the back as we do.

Is this the game everyone on here is talking about?

Poor defending at times by Vale but playing 3 at the back and the the players Charlton  have and the size of the pitch is playing straight into their hands. A Charlton player doesn't have to look for a man to mass to, he just pumps it down the wings. Those two wingers would give Usain Bolt a run for his money.

Vale dug deep and gave them problems and got the goal they deserved and could have had more.

On a knife edge this game, next goal is crucial.

Up until they scored it was an even game (2 shots each I think). We struggled then for maybe 15 minutes.  Last 10 minutes we should have scored at least 2. Strange half.

Playing poorly and we’re still in the game is the positive to take from it. Debra going off was a blessing in disguise. Despite the injury I think he struggles positionally, how many do we see him sucked into the middle of the pitch and the opposition hit the space behind him.

Agreed. There's some real negativity on here.

They, like us, seem good at the front and poor at the back. We've had way more shots and their keeper made 2 very good saves, should have had another pen.

There's so much more for us to have in the second half. Let's get at em
