Thank goodness we Recalled him.

As someone who thinks fondly back to the youngsters brought down from Scotland in the Mathews era I thought Jack did really well today and thoroughly deserved his goal.

Well done and I think Vale fans will be more than willing to give all the Academy graduates fantastic support.

Great that he scored but should we really be relying on 1st and 2nd year pros to be shoring up the squad particularly in CM?  Can't help but think that it's just as well that they've been reasonably okay but it suggests to me that the squad just isn't big or good enough.

Lomax on the right was also infinitely better than Massey. Both should start against Blackpool for me.

Of all the young players I've thought Lomax looks the most comfortable.  Against Wrexham he never put a foot wrong. Walters plays in a difficult position for a youngster but he's struggled in the league games. Shorrock has looked 16 at times. Plant is all energy but needs a little composure,  whereas McDermott has composure but struggles to impose himself. They all need game time to come through but probably not all at the same time.
