Sacking the manager two days after the transfer window closes would be a almost admirably bad way to run a football club

As would not signing a striker or a left wing back in the transfer window.

Carol will be hoping we can scrape a win at home in a few days time and then she can go back to burying her head in the sand for a bit longer. While we all want to see Vale win, every time we do it just prolongs the pain. Crosby is a nice bloke, but so was John Askey. So was Neil Aspin. So was Frank Spencer... He's well and truly out of his depth. For a while he got by on desire and organisation alone, but those days are long gone now. We're a sinking ship and he's like Uncle Albert at the wheel merrily sending us to the bottom of the ocean.

We have signed 4 strikers this season - Wilson, Thomas, Loft and Ikpeazu. Between them they have scored a total of 5 League goals. Well done the recruitment team.  Crosby will inevitably pay the price for these results and the guy responsible for the squad will sail on regardless.

Flitcroft clearly stated at the fans forum it’s a collective responsibility the 1st team results as a defence why Crosby wasn’t  sacked in November.

Well time to go Mr Flitcroft and take Andy Crosby, John Schofield and David Dunn with you.

You’ve had over half a season and we still can’t defend or look like we could score a goal in open play.

Time to go now <ovf censored> Off.

If Carol wants to keep Vale fans on board. Andy Crosby has to have managed his FINAL game at Vale. PVFC can still finish in a comfortable mi table position. But losing 3-0 at Fleetwood has to be the final nail in Andy Crosby's tenure as PVFC manager. No point in Crosby coming onto Radio Stoke and blaming his players for a lack of enthusiasm, passion and energy. Yes the players are to blame to a degree and they get well paid. But the buck stops with Andy Crosby and if he is not sacked after the Fleetwood result, relegation is looking a certainty and attendances will also plunge rapidly.

Problem is also ths budget
not just Crosby. Look at ehat was brought in. Doesn't look like we have much to spend.

I'm not necessarily doubting what you say regarding finances, but do you have evidence and proof that this is the case?

The evidence is there for all to see: too many of the critical decisions we've taken have been on the cheap or because we don't have sufficient resources. Exhibit 1 - Crosby's appointment last summer without any competition; Exhibit 2: DC's admission that the club gave up on trying to find a decent striker in the summer because the market was too expensive; Exhibit 3: the failure to sign a striker and a LWB when other clubs were able to do so.

Just a mile down the road from here Cambridge sacked Mark Bonner and appointed Neil Harris who is gradually leading them up the table; Cambridge also replaced the forwards they lost in the summer with decent players; and they had a good January signing Macauley Bonne on loan from Ipswich. So either we are spending our money on the wrong priorities or we simply can't compete.

Either way, it doesn't look to me that we have anywhere near enough money to survive League 1.

Seems to me like sacking Crosby will be an admission of "I got that wrong".

Which is why we still haven't had a club statement after 3 wins in the last 20 odd games.

It's pure arrogance to carry on with Crosby.

Bang on this! can’t find the humility to admit they got it wrong, would look a very silly person to come out & say that after getting rid of Darrell for a less worse run that we’ve had this season. Look more silly when we go down tho!

It’s difficult to know where Flitcroft ends and Crosby begins.

I’m not great defender of AC but he could quite justifiably argue he’s been dealt a **** hand.

You can only get away with a squad that has glaring deficiencies if you have an experienced manager who can wring every last drop out of his players and make a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

A squad that’s lacking, paired with someone in his first managerial job, is a recipe for disaster.

What a sorry mess.
