Touching the match ball....

I've been going Vale since I was 7.

So that's 47 years.

I've been to 67 grounds with Vale

And in all that time i have never touched the live match ball once.

Can anyone beat that?

If I haven't touched it by the end of the season, i'm considering asking if i can be a ball boy for a match

I touched it twice. Best touch was when me and the lads caught the ball off a Dennis Bergkamp free kick I think it was at Highbury.

I can remember throwing it back away at Bradford city in the old stand at the bottom behind the goal. That was before the stewards said I shouldn't be sitting there as I was supposed to be in the top stand. Just need to touch the ball at Vale but I sit in the railway stand so it's unlikely unless Ryan loft tries a shot.
Strangely enough I've thrown the ball back a fair few times at Hanley town and I've only been a few matches

I have been going to football since 1970 and have never touched the matchball.

If only the same had happened during my cricket career it  would have been a lot less embarassing.

Went to Lincoln last season with a friend seeing his first Vale game.

He got one in the face after about 10 mins

It was an eventful day

First Sticky Vicky dies, and now i find out i'm not a record holder with 47 years 

53 years!

I feel your sense of pain and loss at being overlooked and neglected by fate.

And i will also miss Sticky Vicky showing us the way forward too net zero by illuminating a light bulb by touching them on her magic box

At the Burton Cup game a couple of years ago the ball landed two rows behind me. I almost got excited.

I've headed a match ball. But it was at Tranmere's Prenton Park. Accurate too. 

But this is the point. Johnny King stand. Very close to the pitch. 

Tranmere is my second team after living on the Wirral for nearly 37 years.

I've been going since the start of the 1957-58 season (but not to so many grounds) and the ball has never been anywhere near me. I was once at Fenway Park and the baseball landed in the row behind me.
