Hasn't he been one of the mainstays during Sinnott Glover Gannon reign,how many chances does he create for others ?

We appreciate is goals he scored some very good goals but while we are in the bottom tier no one is irreplaceable.

I look at the big picture and all in all we ain't even got in the play offs in this sorry (let's bring 100 odd fans to a ground holding 19 thousand)league.

So out with the old in with the new.

Just because were in the bottom half doesn't mean Richards is good enough, if anything it would make him seem better (scoring goals in a poor side) it's just laughable mate!!! I think he will go and it will leave us with a huge gap and a player of his quality is very hard to replace. Your logic about Barton is a joke as well, he was **** for Newcastle, and when he left they got a new manager and signed some class players so that's rubbish. You seem lack any knowledge of football. It's not about opinions as you keep saying, look at the stats Richards scores goals, always has and always will where as our other 'strikers' don't. I wish people like you would stop saying you wish pope the best because he's a vale fan, so what? He isn't good enough end of!

Like I said, a debate about football with alsager is pointless, however I do look forward to his team selections on a Friday afternoon. How it isn't painfully obvious that rico is at least a league in ability above our other strikers, i just don't know. I would live to bring in a better striker, but that should be alongside him, no instead of him. Otherwise we will be in the same position as we are now, with average players not scoring taking it in turns (while being happily applauded for running around a lot) while the idiots boo our new star striker.

Do you really believe that one of the reasons we have finished midtable for 3 years is Ricos 50+ goals contribution?

 

I think your right about Pope but that could change with the right partner.

 

My earlier point was that lots of players have been tried alongside Mark Richards but none have worked. That's why I think its time to try something different because we haven't scored enough goals as a team and that's what's needed to win promotion not one player.

Tom Pope is garbage. He tries hard but that's about it - He's a striker at the end of the day and there's center-backs who score more than him. Anybody who thinks he's good enough for any side wanting to get out of League Two is both foolish and deluded.

Vale are to offer Richards the best possible deal to keep him at the club. Seems the right thing to do we need him and then build around him, we can't be loosing key players. I just hope that this deal will better other deals that he will get offered.

It's in the sentinel, however as much as I would like to see Richards stay I would not blame him for going at his age to get a decent last pay day. RICO has/is a great servant of the club who has stayed and showed loyalty when others have left, no matter what he decides I would wish him well
