At Richards age a three year contract with the same wage structure or may be slightly better would be suitable for him and PVFC.

More than money is involved. Loyalty, span of years of contract, popularity/favouritism of fans and manager, suitable and contentment of living area, friends in club and living area, lovely and friendly Stoke -on- Trent people.

Think about it Mark; you love the Vale and the Vale fans love you.

They are one of a number of clubs interested in Richards. Its about what Richards wants really, he's stated he wants to stay if he is offered a deal that satisfies his ambitions. I personally think he'll stay.

Yes, it's been well documented in the media along with hull, Shrews and a few others.

A slight pay rise, obviously continue the captaincy, win and appearance bonuses should seal it for us....dangle an eventual testimonial.

Hopefully Richards will see a potential promotion in us and want to spend the latter part of his career as a leader, captain and well respected club veteran....rather than 'just another player' elsewhere if he should get an injury or not score for a few games.

I don't think Richards has any particular desire to leave but the brutal reality is he'll sign for whoever offers him the best deal financially and you can't blame him for doing that he's got to earn as much as he can while he can. I'd like to think we could offer enough to keep him though but that will depend on what percentage of Mickey's budget that would consume.
