As a starter for 10 my three would be:

 

Rico,

Loft,

McCombe.

And griff, maybe pope.

Rico, loft, and then shuker or Marshall.

i would keep 10 players rico,lofty,griff,McCombe,taylor,owen,rigg,yatesy,pope and dodds. they might release haldane,burge,morsy,williamson. not sure about macdonald,tommo and martin.

Perhaps Williamson and Taylor as they are probably cheap squad players. The rest can go. This squad have proved they ain't good enough for too long now.

After that mccombe, rigg, shuker and i think we owe it to haldane to give him a season.

We need to know the budget first, can we get better players and how many. Since most are out of contract there are.lots of options. We need to keep at least 8 to form the basis of the squad, as well as in the close season further changes can be made in Jan. Teams have brought in 12 players and gone up, but it usually takes 2/3 seasons to change a team around. What is the culture to be, grow our own, loans, dealing or a mixture?

Absolutely bang on the money. And the sooner that a few people start to differentiate between Pope the local Vale fan and Pope the player, the better :rolleyes:

I can never understand why anyone suggests Dodds, Rigg, Marshall or Taylor, if the Vale don't offer them contracts it will be non league for those boys next season!

i would keep Richards,Loft,Griff,Mccombe,Dodds,Rigg,Shuker and Marshall but thats it. The rest are to be honest... terrible.

It's hard to think of 3. Depends on the budget but Richards is the only decent player we have since Collins left. We need a decent coach and a proper goalkeeper.
