Turner has only had seven starts because we were messing about trying to find hidden gems instead of developing our own players.

 

He’s only had seven starts because he’s isn’t very good. Simple as that. Every manager has overlooked him and there’s a reason for it. I couldn’t name what attribute he has to make him a decent striker.

I don't think Turner is better but he is ours and is on a small wage compared to Tyler. "Walker would have scored more goals for us if he wasn't injured" was no use to us at the time. Turner has a natural finishing ability, did you see him in the warm ups at Bury? Not all players have that. I know the pedestrian reserve football is nothing like the first team but he consistently scores and gets the ball in the net, some of the others I mentioned didn't even do that.

Forrester and Campion also scored shed loads of goals in the reserves

Anyone can look good in warm ups when there is no pressure and no one there to outmuscle you. He may be on a small wage but it's a waste when he'll get nowhere in this league. Like someone else said, he has zero attributes of a decent striker.

Campion scored a goal in League 1 at the age of 25. Forrester scored two goals in League 1 at the age of 25, big Reg scored 4 goals but he was 24. Dan is still developing. I fully expect him to leave but I don't think he has been given a chance.
But then you don't see him in training every day. Perhaps there's a reason he hasn't been given a chance?
