John Rudge Role

I am sure Aspin said on Radio Stoke that he isn't involved in signings. I also believe that it's an unpaid role.

 

I don't imagine for one minute that Neil doesn't seek Rudgie's advice or that it isn't given.

What people either fotget or don’t know is that it took years to get Vale to their pinnacle. There was a lot of dire performances along the way.

If then was now the usual suspects would have been calling for Rudges head months before the Macclesfield FA cup game.

 

A week or so before the Macc game fans were calling for Rudge to be sacked at Grimsby when we lost 3-1. That was December 1987. What would our history have been if they had been listened to then??

I imagine he's a sounding board for Neil and I imagine,Smurf. If it was even a PR stunt it was a good one.

Then why does Aspin persist with lump-it-up football and forcing the likes of Rawlinson out wide? I don't want Aspin gone but I really struggle to understand how Rudge could have any part in the manager's often atrocious tactics.

I believe Rudge watched Clarke and the fact that he worked with Steve Bruce at Hull may have helped to make the deal.

Being a Stokie you should know about John Rudge and he did get involved bringing Mitch Clark to the Vale.

Look how well the recruitment has gone at Sjoke since he left.
