Lets just get 45 points, then lets judge Aspin on next season with his own squad. And lets also hope Smurfs not here next season also, so we can have a chairman that will back Aspin yeh.

 

I'm not saying we should be replacing him with anyone at this moment in time. I've stated that more than once now. What I am saying is that he's not shown that he's the savior of the club some are making him out to be, and some of his decisions and selections have been very much in the Brown/Bruno league of late. Personally speaking I have no faith in him yet that he's the man to take the club forward someday, based on what I've seen from his Port Vale team so far, although that could (and hopefully will) change. The fact that he's a former player, a Vale legend and also arrived at the same time as Rudge automatically makes him absolutely the right man for the job in some people's eyes it seems.

TylerB youve just hit the nail on the head. Name our current 2 or 3 stand out players.cus I'm struggling to name them. We have Pope thats obviously suffering so not firing on all 4 cylinders. Worral who after Pope IMO has been the most consistent then there after who. So that's 2 players who are at this present time struggling themselves. Consistency and confidence produces results and unfortunately the whole club top to bottom is lacking in either at the mo.

Everyone knows it's a tough job, we've a poor squad, and a *** of a chairman. However 58 days since a win is atrocious. This squad was being praised in December as was aspin yet now they get criticised but aspin dosent... dosent work like that. Aspin had the new manager buzz and everyone behind him being a vale legend, since December we've played some awful sides yet come out looking even worse. Playing tongue, Kay and Pugh in the midfield, I just can't grasp that and never will it makes no sense and sets us up for defeat wvery match. On the whole his team selections have been poor and tactically abysmal. Constantly playing the injured pope up top all alone and not picking our only plagers with any kind of pace or creativity in harness and Whitfield. These are the same areas that the last clown got sacked for and was rightly ridiculed for. Not to mention the transfer window. Low budget or not I will never understand why aspin signed so many centre backs it just dosent make sense.

 

He needs backing till the end of the season obviously but he's got a long way to go and seeing one post on here calling him the messiah if we stay up but then it's not his fault other than that. Get real! He's been here a while now, he's implement his own **** tactics and should be doing a hell of a lot better than he is. The players and aspin need to get their act together starting on Saturday. If aspin didn't play for port vale he would be getting abuse left right and centre.

 

Just don't play tongue and Pugh in the middle Saturday please aspin, give Whitfield a start and actually get some men around pope, get harness and montano up that end of the pitch. Let's end this spell and get a win.

Agree with all that. Also, I think he needs to bring some of the 'forgotten' back in to the first team picture, get some energy in to the middle of the park. Surely the likes of Billy Reeves or Middleton are worth a shot.

Agree. The chance of them being worse than tongue and Kay/Pugh must be less that 1 in a hundred. Don't mind tongue or Kay but they do need someone with legs as you say.

Still expect a manager to pick a side that dosent have two old men in midfield! People moaned about two of those you mentioned and replacements have been signed. I don't expect a lot but we should be doing much better than we currently are.
