I must admit I have heard from both Stoke and United fans that they expect trouble this weekend. One of them suggesting Vale and Crewe would clash as well after something happening in the same fixture last year (I didn't hear of any trouble last year when we went Crewe, but might have missed it). I would imagine that a late K.O for Stoke vs United just means longer drinking hours rather than United coming down later, I would expect some United fans to be passing through Crewe the same time as Vale arrive. It is possible we will have all sorts going on in Crewe as United, Vale and Crewe fans cross paths, and that is assuming Stoke don't hop on a train to see what's occurring.

 

All speculation mind, but the fixtures do hold the chance for trouble, there is no denying that. Surprised they have been organised on the same day to be honest, better to be safe than sorry IMO.

Why would Utd fans travelling to Stoke even pass through Crewe when there are dozens of direct trains between Piccadily and Stoke every Saturday?

 

Utd fans won't give a hoot about Vale, Crewe and Stoke fans. Since their promotion to the Premiership, Stoke fans have been trying to fabricate some kind of rivallry with Utd, but Utd fans clearly don't care about Stoke or its strange supporters, as they may be in the same league on paper, but in reality remain worlds apart.
