Actually we have got one youngster still not out on loan, Florent Cuvelier, but I think we'd be looking at lower Championship/League One to be honest. Don't know why Stoke don't loan their decent youngsters to Vale to be fair would be of benefit to both parties IMO.

Someone recently suggested in conversation to me that he would question the validity of the coaching staff, saying that he can't see any improvement throughout the team over the last couple of seasons, so what are they getting paid for?

 

It may be a valid point I'm not sure, in my mind we certainly need someone that can cross a ball into dangerous positions, accurately and often.

In answer to that Burt, I would suggest :

 

Rigg - I don't think he's 'improved', I believe he was always that capable, but only recently been given the right run with the right position and partner.

 

Loft - Merely more mature and showing the clas he undoubtedly always had.

 

Yates - I don't particularly think he's improved that much defensively but that may be because he is expected to be putting in pin-point crosses one minute, and defending the next.

 

McCombe - Never once did I doubt him from his first game Burt, have always believed he would be the player he has been.

 

Dodds - The 'Enigma'....see my other post on the Dodds thread.

 

Richards - Was brought in initially to play off Akpo but never got the chance, subsequently expected to be the target man which he clearly is not. Pretty much the lone forward for far too long and only now with better personnel around him showing his true value.

 

It's only my opinion as you know Burt. ;)
