I would have packed the midfield with ball winners and players that could retain the ball.

 

A back five given our personnel would also have been solid given our squad balance. Actually the 3-6-1 Rudgie played at WBA all those years ago would have been perfect today.

 

Oh and I wouldn't have heartless players like Kelly and Hart anywhere near the 18.

 

Grant just had a poor game, I like him and I like Smith but they were both shown up today which proves neither is capable at the moment of playing at a higher level.

 

Oh and whoever the cretin was that allowed Hooper and Turner to be cup tied wants shooting. Imagine if Bill Lordy had done something like that!

Yeah let's keep blaming the man that's pumping money in.

 

The players and managers of the last two years have let us down hugely, none of last season have gone on to do out anytime by successful and I doubt any of this shower will Streete and Alnwick aside.

 

Of course the chairman is responsible for choosing the managers which he needs to get right this time but the players and manager are in charge on the pitch.

The worry for me is that we have a bunch of players that don't seem to give a damn, Alnwick, Streete and Smith apart. I always thought even playing against a second string Huddersfield we would struggle but there was a serious lack of effort out there today, it was an FA Cup 3rd round and there was not a decent tackle made. How they were knocking the ball around, I thought we were Madrid. Grant obviously does not want to play for us so please make him available for transfer and see who comes in for him, personally I can't see anyone much higher up than us coming in for and that says something.

 

Reg is not good enough but no matter who we have up front is going to struggle in that team with that midfield supplying the balls to them. We somehow need to find a striker who can beat 4 or 5 players and then finish because that is the only way they will score. 6 away games without a goal now, we must be close to some kind of record and in that time I can't remember too many near misses.

 

These are worrying times and just hope that there are 4 teams who are worse than us because away from home we look like getting nothing.

My two questions too, do you want a gutless Kelly or someone like Amoros with a bit of heart?

 

Do you want one of the 'poorest' most 'positionally unaware' Liverpool players in Hart or Kiko, someone who has shown he can pass balls to team mates.
