Take a look through my posts in January. I was the first to say anything about Alnwick attracting interest from a Scottish club (which was ridiculed by some) and also insisted all month that Grant would be gone (I posted this around a month ago).

 

Doubt me if you like, but my sources are far closer to the action on these deals than the Sentinel.

I wonder if JFH recommended the two youngsters from QPR?

It seems the goalkeeping issue came into play quite late in the window as otherwise we would have kept Sam Johnson, instead of sending him out on loan for the rest of the season. I think we tried to get an experienced keeper in but it didn`t happen, so hopefully the lad from Celtic can step up well.

What worries most people is the lack of cover at centre back but I suppose if we get desperate we can try to get in a free agent and clubs often are prepared to cancel contracts of some players who may well be released at the end of the season.

On the positive side we are looking much better in an attacking sense although Grant leaving will leave a big hole in defensive midfield at least for the games he isn`t suspended!
