Offer streete a 2 year contract. Get rid of 2 of the keepers as theres no point having 5 in your squad. Extend jones and taylors stays untill the end of the season. Get rid of a few others who are unlikely to play mbamba shalaj ferguson mcintosh. Bring 2 strikers in one a target man another a goalscorer bring a right winger in and bring a tall good in the air centre half in.

I think we all know who to get rid of, that is the easy bit, identifying them, actually getting them out of the door is more difficult. We should certainly give JJ Hooper a chance to show what he can do and we should aim to get Remie Streete on a long term contract those are two things that are in Michael Brown's control, getting rid of deadwood is not 100% in his control. Of course we all want to see Alex Jones here for the rest of the season.

Miohael Brown has made a good start, what I really liked was his comment about how he had achieved an ambition of leading out his team as a manager, something he had wanted to do for some time. I also liked the fact that he admitted how nervous he was. These are good points and show his human side. My memories of Vale go back to the early 60s, in that time the best four managers we had were John Rudge, Gordon Lee, John McGrath and Micky Adams (in that order). The first 3 were all first time managers. Our Chairman could do a lot worse than trusting Michael with the job. If we have a good January I would expect him to get a permanent contract. The absence of a permanent manager is the biggest obstacle facing Vale and will inevitably restrict Michael Brown's actions to an extent.

I think I'd be happy to have Michael Brown on a contract to the end of the season initially.

David Kelly sounds decent, so have him alongside Browny.

The aim HAS TO BE stability.

The experiment with Bruno didn't work.

Get a core of solid players who know the territory.

Become hard to beat.

Build from there step at a time.

Same seemingly goes for off the field activities too.

Massive need to build foundations.

We've seen the outcome of aiming for the championship without foundations.

Smurf DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Slow down, you will go much faster!

Very profound words from SFBT for the first time in his life. On the field we need another striker, a box to box midfielder, a creative midfielder and a tricky winger. I suspect we might need to wait until the close season to shift out the large amount of deadwood in the squad. Likewise I would give MB a contract to see out the rest of the season to prove himself.

I think Brown is possibly as good an option as any. As we've said before, no-one knows who will make a good manager here and who won't until they've had a go for a few months. A named manager might not be any better and there are reasons why these folk are not in work.

Brown has played over 600 games under a wide number of managers and some at the highest level. He must have learned a lot along the way but it's tough to take over half way through a season will someone else's players so he'll need a bit of time and patience.

If he can steer us to mid table safety I'd be happy.

Sadly, the Bruno experiment hasn't worked and we're back at square one again, trying to build a new team under a new coach.

Lastly, Brown was one of those annoying, physical, under your skin, never-say-die characters, who wore his shirt with pride and that's an attitude that I rather like.

If he can instil a bit of that into his team then all the better.
