Ched Evans cleared.

Evans is not a rapist. His behaviour on that night as described in court, however, shows him to be a rather unpleasant young man. The lack of self-respect shown by the three people involved on that night is a mystery to me. Perhaps I'm just too old.

What do you mean perhaps.

I find it all quite disturbing. We now find out that Evans' girlfriend is said to have offered someone 50k to give evidence on his behalf and as far as I'm aware it is very unusual for the legal system to allow evidence from the girl's previous partners.

The main lesson from today is that money talks and Evans' was fortunate to have a multi-millionaire 'father-in'law' who could bankroll his appeal.

Regardless of the decision he won't be getting a Xmas card from me. His behaviour has been appalling whatever happened that night.

Agreed, it seems money talks!

How stupid is his girlfriend?

I got slated when I said I didn't think he did anything wrong I'm glad he's been proven innocent, most of the country owe him an apology.

There is a world of difference between being found not guilty and being innocent.... and because he was found not guilty of rape doesnt mean he didnt do anything wrong

The fact you people are lording his behaviour is disgusting.

Guilty or not guilty there is no denying that his actions were despicable. He's a pathetic human being and doesn't deserve a career in football.

Ah yes.....Footballers the paragons of virtue.

He broke no laws, she repeated the act a few days later - must have been really traumatised:ohmy: what is really disusting is a post that seeks to take away a career from a man, when probably 80 per cent of players would have done the same. Posts like this have no right to pass judgement and are sanctimonious rubbish.

Most women are more annoyed with the so-called 'victim' knowing that a large number of divorces are the result of nights out like hers.

His actions? How about the girl? Or do we overlook the fact that her lies almost ruined someone's career and life. Why should he never be allowed play football again? Because he had sex?

What Evans did is no different than what most young guys and girls do. The whole thing was a farce from the beginning, but he was found guilty served his time, and now been found not guilty. So the question is what happens now, should the girl have to face jail like he did?

How do you know 'most women' are more annoyed blah blah blah. Have you spoken to most women? And what about the large number of divorces due to behaviour of the likes of Evans?

Whether the woman was traumatised or not, whether she did it with half of the country is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is whether Evans, a man who openly admits that he didn't say a single word to this woman before he had sex with her, had her consent to do so. The woman in question - the one that people with similar attitudes to yours and others on here seem very happy to hound - hasn't lied. For reference, she had no recollection. No consent in law. That's the issue.

The fact that the woman's sexual history was brought up in court is an absolute ******* disgrace and stuff like that belongs in the last centruy. The effect of that could have a massively detrimental effect on victims of rape and sexual abuse coming forward.

What Evans did is no different than what most young guys and girls do.

Speak for yourself.

Why? The Police told her she'd been raped. This whole falacy that she made the thing up for profit needs blasting in to the sun.

The whole affair is just ******* horrible and the attitudes that it exposes in people is particularly sickening. Someone upthread called her a 'slag' and I imagine that many others think the same. Meanwhile, Evans' name will be sang by thousands at Chesterfield's next home game.

If the 'victim' is doing it week in and week out then that's what they generally get called. Why shouldn't his name be sang? He's not guilty.

Don't you this is an example of double standards? Evans, whilst engaged to someone else, went and had sex with an extremely drunk woman in a hotel room without once uttering a word to her. He has also admitted that he too has had threesomes. Yet she is a slag and you think she should face prison but it's ok for football fans to sing his name?
