The only way/reason we would sign now is if we sold or got rid of another player, or if we lost a player to long term injury, in which case we would dip into the loan market!

At the level we are at I don't think we need anybody. We need to get out of league 2 and then invest to stay in league 1 in my view.

Midfield doesnt look too bad, as long as Gary Roberts keeps his head and Lofty can stay fit. We all know what to expect from Griff, and then have Taylor, Haldane, Burge, Morsy and Dodds who will all be fighting for a place in the starting 11 and awaiting their change to prove a point to Micky.

 

Then up front we were all worried about where the goals would come from, if Richards got injured... step forward Sean Rigg.

 

Not saying we wont need anyone in the near future if we got a couple of injuries, but for the time being, after Saturday's performance, the squad as it is looks alright.

Far too early to know, as two of our new signings haven't had a game yet and Williamson only snippetts, Burge just one game.

When most of them have a dozen games under their belt the manager will have a far better idea.

No doubt someone will be asking 'who is the best of the new players' sometime in September. Give them time, remember how Sam Togwell was awful at first then became a very good asset to Vale.

We could have done with an established winger, but we have lots of defenders and back up defenders. As for strikers, now that Rigg is showing some promise we have a good mix of competent strikers.
