poss changes to football league

4 less home games a season will cripple a number of league clubs.

Its 4 x 4000 fans x average £12-£15 entry at minimum which is over £200k in a lot of cases, and all the unsold programmes, all the reduction in catering, all the lost visits to the club shop.....it stinks.

What is the advantage of this when if they employed a competent fixtures compiler with good software there would be no problem?

Probably, no Saturday outings to the likes of Everton either.

Just heard the Bradford chairman on Talk sport he aint happy as now one has been consulted and says how can compensation for loss of games be calculated with varying crowds from Accrington to Bradford to leeds , plus he says championship teams vote count as 4 whilst lge 1 n 2 count as one meaning if all championship clubs vote yes it doesn't matter how many others vote no from lge 1 n 2.

Typical FA think football is around because of them and not the other way around

Although the Championship clubs have 66% of the votes, a 90% vote is required to change the rules, so L1 and 2 would need to benefit for it to be passed. Don't think football revolves around the FA anymore, more likely Sky customers.

Nobody seems to have thought this through.

Less games, less revenue, LESS PLAYERS- yes, if clubs are hit financially they will have smaller squads and then less youth players - cover will not be needed so often either, so again reason for less players.

It could mean 10 per cent or more, even perhaps 20 per cent of players being made redundant as full time professionals.

And if we have no midweek games - and get a postponement then a Saturday without a game because our opponents are in a Cup tie - 3 weeks will seem endless and lack of interest increases.

No doubt fans will be expected to pay nearly as much or the same for a 19 home game season ticket as for a 23 game one, as their stadia stand empty and useless for 99 per cent of the time, being used for 2 hours every 2 weeks if we are lucky.

The weird thing is that the ones who moan most about too many games are the bigshot Prem greedies, and they wont have a cut in their games, staying at 20 clubs.

It's gimmicky, ill-conceived, and fundamentally flawed as a proposal and should be kicked into touch as soon as possible.

Good idea but can't see 90% voting for it though. There should be a better share of the money going in to the Premiership across all divisions, that would compensate a lot of clubs but that again will never happen because of the greed of the top clubs in the Premiership.
