Not being on telly is another excuse crossed off the "I'm not going because..." List.

Although we still have the early kickoff, it's on a Sunday, it might not be sunny, I hate Walsall, and page out to cross off the list !!!

Sunny day forecast on Sunday.

20 degrees C forecast for next weekend. It's certain that we'll be one of the featured games with live reports broadcast live, don't suppose that many will be using that as an excuse not to go though.

always considered vale and scumsbury as our true rivals. hate is an over used word but in a football context I was brought up to 'hate' vale. some of my earliest memories of following Walsall away in late 70s and early80s were being scared shitless about the 'welcome' we got at vale park. went on special train (remember them?) once and vale piled out of every pub we passed, was glad of the old bill escort!

its always a big match against you lot, but this sunday is bigger than usual, we might just do it. if we don't then we will celebrate a season beyond our expectations.

my dislike of you lot mellowed a couple of years ago. we did a sponsored walk from Walsall to vale in aid of a lifetime saddler Julie who lost her battle against cancer. it was a long walk!! but hats off to the vale fans, they donated generously and pushed our fund up by a few hundred quid. respect.

we sold 3100 at last count so hopefully we will sell our 3900 allocation. it will be loud. UTS

Enjoy your day out, the result will depend upon which of our teams turn up. Staffs rivals in the old days at Fellows Park, I remember a Vale Railway excursion to Cleck or Pleck ? station, but was not tempted by the savoury ducks. Long periods of defeats by the Saddlers don't sit easy with our fans, so should be a noisy atmosphere in the ground. Don't suppose we are happy with yourselves or the Brewers in a higher league, but its points that count, maybe we will be competing more strongly next season.

After the match could be a repeat of the Wolves fiasco.vale and nearly 4k Walsall walking down the Hamil together will be fun.

There was 12601 at that game vs wolves even with walsall bringing 3900 i doubt the crowd will be anymore than 8500 but no doubt there will be about 300 police on duty.

I'm going the match, and despite only attending 9 games home and away this season I am yet to see us win a game so expect a defeat.

Good man philpvfc, I will but your ticket and hope your lack of luck continues

Not sure that special train was, but I was only young so it's long time ago. Can't even remember which train station we got let off at. Remember it was a long walk. Massive police escort greeted us, we were all laughing but once we started to walk we realised why police escort was so big! As a young impressionable lad I remember one Walsall fan breaking out of the police escort by a pub, pushing through loads of baying vale fans countering about '**** this I am off for a pint'. The vale fans were so shocked they just let him through and straight to the bar. We used to call him the bear cos he was hairy and hard as ****.

Funnily enough I was drinking in a boozer after we beat scumsbury last week and my mate said that's the bear over there. He is in his seventies now and a little old man, I asked him about the incident and he remembered it well and said vale fans got beer in for him.

Makes me loff that our young lot consider wolves our rivals. Yes I hate them to, but you lot and scumsbury are and always will be our true rivals. Alan Buckley is on the bench on Sunday, just in case we need him. Those of you of a certain age will remember how much he loved playing vale

Delusions of grandure. Stoke care about you as much as wolves care about us. Silly boy

To be fair they bliddy hate us BS, while they were getting spanked at Citeh recently one of their recently retired crap ex-players lead a chorus of chants about 'little Port Vale'!

Oh and by the way we are still champions of the Potteries dating back to the early part of the century.
