If you want a complication, check West Ham`s tenancy agreement of the Olympic Stadium.

Explain yourself Fosse, West Ham rent their ground from Newham Council, Vale will be renting their ground (if it ever came to mthat) from a private landlord, huge, huge difference.

It is the terms that matter not the ownership of the ground, Coventry`s were simple from a council, not like West Ham`s.

Oh dear, oh dear

I am assuming that neither of you attended the Supporters forum on Tuesday?Had you have done so,you would have appreciated hopefully that the real problem at the Club is the Chairman.Season ticket numbers have reduced from circa 5,000 to 3,200 under his tenure but he seems either incapable or unwilling to try and address the underlying issues.Very easy to cut costs in any business-much more of a challenge to increase revenue and one which is clearly beyond Smurf.

Worrying times ahead....exemplified by his apparent love affair with Micky Adams.

Frightning.....

You've lost me again there but I would rather Vale own the ground rather than have to rent it and be at the whim of a private landlord, terms change and often do. I believe Upton Park was owned by West Ham and they've just sold it with their move to the Olympic Stadium which I think is owned and rented from Newham Council on reportedly very favorable "council backed" terms.

If separating the ground from the club doesn't make your "Audit nose twitch" then I don't know what will.

Smurf said at the forum, separating the ground from the club was the best thing he ever did. If he hadn't done it Port Vale fc wouldn't be here now.

We are on the same path, I prefer the club to have one owner, whereas with a lease it depends on the terms. Newham council have a big cut of the hospitality, but the Hammers can have 20k more fans, it will be interesting to see what happens in the future, not that we will be around for the 99 years of the lease. The Old Rec was owned by SOT council but was terminated on a whim?

The last time I looked there was only one of me. Isn't promoting the assistant manager the classic sign of cost cutting?

Not necessarily promoting from within is often a good strategy as they are familiar with how the company works and the nature of the business, doesn't need time to settle and can often lead to continuity and gives others within the company a sens of togetherness and the vision that if they do well they can also achieve promotion. We have often done this, a certain manager by the name of Rudge springs to my mind, he didn't do too badly now did he and to be fair neither is Page certainly at home.

I often recall when under Adams when we were spanking teams away but were not quite as good at home that fans complained that we should be 'doing the business at home', 'where it counts' now we're doing this we should be 'doing it in style' or 'winning away as well' the poor bloke just can't win.

Interestingly I was out last night and spoke to 5 different people who all had a season ticket last year bar one. The only one who is still going is the one who didn't have a ST. Of the 4 , 2 haven't been at all this season and the other 2 have seen one game. What is keeping them away if the home form is so good?

How do you expect me to answer that, the form is good, they obviously have other reasons, it's their personal choice. Why don't you tell me, you after all were out with them. I know a few people who I see after games in Burslem who don't bother going, the reasons they give in my eyes are excuses not reasons for not attending. I don't agree with them but again it's down to their personal choice.

Why didn't you ask them while you were with them?

Surely if it were out with then you would have asked them? How would Nelly know if you don't?

1 x chairman, 1 x manager , 2 x crap football and manager. Happy.

Sounds like a great night out but at least you all had something to moan about:-)

Interestingly, I will be out with about 10 to 12 Vale fans next week who will all be either getting a season ticket or renewing next season. Again it is our personal choice.
