Hope not, Rooney's been crap for England.

I think that's a little unfair as he is England's leading goalscorer. However, I do think some of Roy's favourites have had their opportunity (Rooney, Walcott, Wiltshire, Sterling) and it's time to try some new blood.

All I ask of England Managers is to pick the players in form and play them where they play for their clubs. Last night is an example of what happens if you do just that.

You are kidding me aren't you?

Rooney as a commentator? Does he yet know his alphabet? That's as laughable as Herod being put in charge of child protection or Terry Butcher as a football manager.

There's no way he can hack it as a commentator,he'll be in the studio with Pougash,Hoddle and Dixon.

Expect many 'Yer Knows'.

get in England, great win Howjy, dunna like the new England home and away kit though mate its tacky. Whats with those horrible sleeves, cack.

We went to the U17s at Leek yesterday. They wore the home kit,not much for the red socks with the white and blue. The grandson is having the goalie kit.Not too bad.Talking to a chap connected to the FA.He sorts out the venues and pitches for that level. He reckons there are loads of top kids coming through now.He reckons the seniors will get to the semis ,at least, at Euro.BTW he was Scottish.:D

Whoosh, whoosh!! The fact he plays for Stoke is not relevant if he and Shawcross played for Vale the same point stands. For whatever reason recent debuts from players from the same said team have have been woeful.

You're doing this on purpose right? "Said team" ie Stoke! I'm amazed you managed to access the internet

You're probably right but he showed his inexperience tonight.

Excellent England performance though. Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Vardy look a real handful. Just hope Roy keeps with them and doesn't go back to his favourites (Rooney, Walcott and sick note Sturridge).

All the Spurs lads did well, hard to think that Dele Alli was playing at Vale Park almost twelve months ago.

I'd agree, the massively overrated Henderson and Cahill aside.

We will never win a tournament because we currently don't have one defender who we could call world class unless we can somehow do a Greece and grind out wins. Even coming through you can't see a defender that stands out as one for the future. The days of having players of the ability of Adams, Terry and co seem long gone.
