I don't really know why I'm posting this reply but I will anyway. Uche and Leitch Smith don't offer a fraction of what Popey did. OK you hid behind your dodgy goals statistic but that was only a fraction of what Tom offered with his heading, ball holding and even defending a million miles better than the ones that are currently in situ. Lastly Tom had passion for his team in his play which is something that should never be underestimated.

Strikers are ultimately judged on goals. Dicko has lots of passion, I wouldn't want him upfront.

I've seen Naylor in the last 2 pre season charity games and he's still better than anything we have now.

As for Richards, is he top scorer in league 2?

For once I think you're talking sense. The problem at Coventry and like so many away games is the lack of support from midfield and the wingers not getting in the box. AJ was marked by 2 or 3 players every time he got near the ball, he needs more support, Dodds never offers it and Foley was too far behind, Moore offered absolutely nothing in an attackive sense and I just don't think Daniel is a winger.

The facts are that our front men have scored than those at this point last season. Pope was **** last season, alls he did was mope around moaning at other players, that isnt passion. I agree 100% with REP its those behind the front man letting us down. Dodds should be creating chances left right and centre and rarely does and the same goes for the wingers whoever plays there. AJ is actually extremely dangerous infront of goal and has proven that recently.

 

Your point about holding the ball up is completely pointless as we play a complete different style to then. Obviously Pope is better in the air and at holding the ball up that AJ, theyre completely different players! Pope was great for vale, he was excellent but last season he was past it and Im glad he left. MOVE ON.
