Losing to Exeter in the last round has cost us a fortune because we would have beaten this Liverpool team and then been in the hat for the 4th round.

I honestly think looking at this that we would have put in a quality performance at home to these and beaten them. Exeter put in the usual good performance by a lower league team against a PL side, but with our home record, & how we are somehow completely different at home to how we are away, think we could have beat them.

There is no guarantee that Vale would have beaten that Liverpool team from last night against Exeter.But the odds would / should have been in Vales favour. There would have been no better opportunity to beat a Liverpool team.Liverpool suffered injuries from the Stoke game.They have games against Arsenal,Man Utd,Norwich and the next Stoke game coming up.Liverpool will be more interested / concerned with those games.Exeter got the draw and now go to Anfield for the replay.That game will also be on TV so it's been a great money earner for Exeter and they thoroughly deserve it.The lackadaisical attitude of the Vale players at Exeter lost the club a lot of money and players lost pride.

 

I hope that all the Vale players involved at Exeter watched that match and watch the replay.While watching i hope that they are thinking - if only i had tried harder,put more effort in,shown more interest that that could have been me playing at Anfield and on the TV.
