we're playing well but more importantly are defending brilliantly. I think Bradford will be surprised. That being said, despite a seemingly poor start Bradford have a good side and this won't be easy. I do believe that we can beat them, but I'd happily settle for a point away from home.

It's arguably our strongest squad in years, to be honest.

I'm sure I won't be blown away on how sexy your football will be, though.

I'm surprised that you think this is your strongest squad. I said before the season that I think you'll be top 6 but to me you've got lots of 'grafters' but little flair.

Having said that, our season has to take some bumps along the way and I suspect Saturday might be one.

Jeremy Simpson is the ref.

He did Sheffield United away last year, sending off Michael Brown for very little and giving the penalty that drug cheat Jose Baxter converted.

He also did the home game against Orient a couple of seasons ago, disallowing a couple of perfectly good goals, one of them because the defender was down injured in the area after blocking a shot with his groin.

Oh dear, that has reduced my expectations, I expect this info to be part of Page's "Intelligence"

Oh no he's one of those refs that likes to get involved and thinks the game is all about him. how is he still refereeing at this level? Who assesses performance?

Getting an internal flight upto Leeds/Bradford airport tomorrow afternoon from the South coast, and making a weekend of it.:)

Staying at one of my old High School mates who has now lived up in Saltaire with his missus past few years.

So pretty sure and confident he will know of the good pubs to go to and visit before and after the game.

I think we will win and maintain our decent start to the season, and obtain yet another clean sheet, fingers crossed. Our performances and start to the season means we really deserve to be on a good 8/9 points by now, should really have won at least one out of the Crewe and Gillingham games.

Hope Billy Knott and Mark Marshall don't come back to haunt us.

Bradford 0-2 Vale

We switched back to a more conventional 4-4-2 at Barnsley on Saturday, and were unlucky not to come away with three points. Our key players are starting to find their match fitness, this has also had an effect on our start.

Losing Billy Clarke and Felipe Morais hasn't helped either.

However, I still feel we have enough to notch our first win of the season at the weekend.

Line up;

GK: Ben Williams/Brad Jones

RB: Stephen Darby

CB: Rory McArdle

CB: Reece Burke

LB: James Meredith

RM: Paul Anderson

CM: Gary Liddle

CM: Lee Evans/Billy Knott

LM: Josh Morris/Mark Marshall

ST: James Hanson

ST: Stephen Davies/Luke James

Give these a good thrashing Saturday, no problem. Bradford 1-4 Vale.

Can't wait to see this footballing lesson you're going to give us. I'm one to reserve judgement normally, but you're all incredibly confident that we'll be completely amazed at how good you are, when really, anyone can beat anyone.

It strikes me of a bunch of fans who are all a little over excited about a good start you've had.

All the best.

We have had better starts in previous seasons, but it is the style of play that has amazed us and created the excitement. As before let the best team win, without an interfearing ref.
