Tough game today.Gills have started with 2 wins.The eye opener being 4-0 against Sheffield Utd.At the moment I'm not too bothered who starts between Inniss,Duffy and Streete.I think most teams in League 1 would love the options we have.2-1 Vale.

Yep, tough, they've strengthened since last year, I thought they were decent when they came up here, we were lucky to win it. Bradley dack is a fine player, we know about loft, who knows about Williamson, he could look capable occasionally, a bit of grief may motivate him. He'll certainly get it I'm sure. A decent crowd is in prospect, let's hope it's a win.

Looking forward to the game, the first two have been easier on the eye,BUT how many times have we been here? Expectation high, a home game and BOOM a defeat, that just encourages the doom merchants (Who dont go ) to castigate Page et al Lets just hope that we can carry on where we left off and do what Rudgie used to say not to get carried away with a victory and not to get down over a defeat.

After seeing the goals that Sheffield United conceded last Saturday, we need to be on the money defending set pieces.

 

Egan came up from the back and scored last week and he scored against us at Priestfield last season as well.

Hope that we don'tgo defensive and sit back which will invite Gills forwards into the Vale half.

Gills put four past Sheffield Utd, so looks they may have players who can find the net. Good that our defence is vastly improved upon last season.

 

Big IF is can If Vale find a player who can score? Hard to knock off the ball is big Uche who can cause havoc in Gills penalty area. Hope that he starts.

Can't see why people would be booing Williamson. I was never a fan of him but he really can't win if he get's booed, some people were desperate for him to go offering to pay the taxi fare, yet now he has gone those people are thinking about booing him? Surely they should be cheering that he left. He doesn't deserved to be booed after all the stick he got. He played for nothing through the times of admin. I think he shouldn't receive any attention either positive or negative.

Anyone there today have an opinion about the award of the free kick? Apparently a looped kick from Duffy which it seems Alnwick misinterpreted.

Just sense that without O'Connor in midfield Vale are lacking a little quality on the ball.

Apparently Duffy looped the kick back to Alnwick's hands who misinterpreted,thinking a Gills player had touched it last,the ref awarded a free kick.

Thought a free kick could only be awarded if the goalie picks the ball up from a deliberate back pass, if there is any doubt about whether it is deliberate or not no free kick is given.
