Potential director Mark Sims has told OVF that the club "continue to hamper" his progress, but he still wants to take up a position on the Port Vale board.

Sims was offered a position as club director following June's EGM, but the successful businessman and Port Vale fan wanted to undertake due dilligence before accepting the position.

Sims told OVF: "I wish to provide you with a brief update on my position. I continue to remain focused on joining the board of directors of our club, for which shareholders have kindly supported my appointment at the recent EGM."

Sims added: "My contact with the club has been hampered by claims from Mr Bratt that key individuals are not available to provide the information I requested some ten days ago. The information requested was standard business practice, and in my view, information which any well run business would have immediately to hand.

"I am also still waiting for the club to provide me with a copy of the ‘confidentiality’ agreement (which I again requested after Mr Oliver advised me of the need via the press), which under the circumstances I am more than happy to sign in an attempt to resolve this stand-off.

"I have today provided the club with a request to update me on their position, as I am personally attempting to resolve this issue without any further delays, and hopefully I can then take up the position kindly offered to me.

"Whilst the club continue to hamper my progress, I urge supporters to await my conclusions before deciding on their respective stance on the future of the club. Many thanks again for all of the support I have received from genuine friends and fans over the last week or so. I hope this can be concluded in the very near future, and I will update again once the position becomes clear."

Think this answers your question.

Thanks i had not read that...

As previously stated in bits & pieces Charles Machin was interviewed on RS and he said that despite being no lover of the Board and Bratt & Jackson in particular that he was going to vote in favour of the board because he didn't agree with Broxap selling their proxy to Mo Chaudry. If he had known the reversal made by Robert Lee and the board would he have changed his vote?. Personally I think not as I heard that he had been 'got at' with some underhand persausion.

Interestingly and very annoyingly if he had abstained the board would have been history and Port Vale looking at a bright new future.Nice one Chuckie, I hope your socks rot.

Radio Stoke interviewed Machin on the morning of the EGM. I'm sure that he initially said that he was going to vote for MC but that he "thought long and hard about it overnight and decided to back the board". I don't recall his exact reasons, something about Bratt working really hard for the club amongst other really meaningless, almost wishy washy reasons. I remember thinking at the time that he had actually said nothing concrete at all, as if he hadn't actually thought about it at all and he'd been 'got at'.

Its seems like what you are saying is that the EGM called by the NLV was to get MC in as chairman/owner of PVFC ,this was NOT the case .

The EGM was called to get a interim board in place, to allow the club to function as normal, and to invite any investors,

At the meeting at badderley green wmc Jean J, [b & G] stated to MC that if a better offer came in said.... 'MO you are dumped'

Another irony is that the board and their followers voted out the chance to reduce the number of directors requiring quorum to three in order to prevent the anti-boarders from setting up a three man interim board. It was that reason that the three retained directors following the EGM could not form a board that was quorate.

This was splashed on the back page of the Sentinel way before the EGM,

Your right though only ma very few voters voted for the board, 4 I think

I added up the shares of Bratt, Jackson, Meigh, Oliver, Lloyd, Mudie, Machin and Lee and it came to 68650, based on the 2010 accounts. So somehow the board managed to obtain 40000 other shares in their favour. I honestly cannot think this amount was owned by 4 other people, and if so, who were they?
