I seem to remember Dance being in goal in the FA Cup replay v Enfield when we lost 3-0? Didnt he make an absolute howler in that game? My memory is sketchy as i was a very young lad at the time. Then again something in the back of my mind says our keeper that day was someone named Cherry? Can anyone enlighten me?

Was'nt it Steve Cherry? I think we had him on loan.

 

Trevor Dance was a decent young keeper i remember.

Steve Cherry's perfromance in the replay against Enfield ranks as possibly the worst ever single game a Vale player has had. I heard that he returned from his loan spell, gave up football and became a ballet dancer in the Bolshoi ballet 2 years later then later went on to become a Nucleur Saftely officer at Chernobyl in the early 1980's.
