Here's my take for what it's worth

We don't KNOW there is a God we don't KNOW that there isn't...that's why those who belive in God rely on faith. Personally I don't believe that there is any supreme being/creator but that is solely based on me believing that we came about thru other means..although that's yet to be scientifically proven..how did we come to be..I feel we may be getting there.

From my prespective we have no soul..were a bag of meat, water, electricity etc with physical (and some behavioural) characteristics inherited in our DNA and then we're changed by experience..sadly (and i'd love to believe that this is not true) we don't live on. But I am happy to hear what a soul is?

The Bible does suggest that animals have souls...two minutes research.... for example both Moses in Genesis and John in Revelation communicate that the Creator endowed animals with souls (see Gen. 1:20,24; Rev. 8:9), one example that I found.

If life doesn't exist elsewhere (and that opens up the question that if it has a creator, then why make it so big),.

If it suits his purpose to create a vast lifeless universe then why not? The question is what would be God's purpose in creating a vast lifeless universe? Does anyone have an answer to that? Maybe he'll tell us when we meet him

http://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/15994/does-the-bible-give-us-any-indication-of-why-god-created-such-a-vast-universe-wi

Some interesting quotes from it

"One would wonder how God would be able to create a smaller universe. If we could see the edge, would we not wonder what was on the other side? As it is, we can never see even the edge, if there is one. – Narnian May 6 '13 at 13:14 "

"I think any question that contains "why does this need to be so" is fundamentally flawed. The truth is nothing needs to be how it is. God could choose do it anyway He wanted to, and He choose to do it this way."

I'm not sure you are entirely correct there.

In Genesis 1 (and in Job), the writer uses the word “nepesh” in the Hebrew. This definition refers to “soulish” creatures, animals with the capacity for a limited range of thought, choice and feeling, but without the spiritual qualities possessed by humans.

I may well not be entirely correct..I just did a search having read a few things in the past about animals having souls...I have heard of nepesh previoulsy and just it referred to something that has life but again I may be wrong.

What's your view..do animals 'go to heaven'?

I've heard different views, but I would say no. I am more concerned about the souls of my friends and family, than I am about our dogs and cats.

I much prefer my dogs to people. Any place that doesn't allow dogs in must be pretty crap. I mean, to not even allow guide dogs in. How heartless.

I'm interested about the 'limited capacity of thought' necessity for heaven though. Must rule a lot of people out that must.

  • 4 weeks later...

"Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on Tuesday morning on suspicion of encouraging terrorism and supporting a proscribed organisation.

The arrest relates to "suspected online postings which reference the Islamic State", West Midlands Police said."

The devil will be in the detail; innocent until proven guilty.

Rumours that his name is Carl Alexopoulos have been denied

Right there in those pictures is the truth and the reality of what goes on in that household and why the girl took the actions she did.
