That game had everything. But 3 points for us. Well done Vale and sorry for the Gillingham fans, who must have thought they had a point. We have been there, but hay "Funny Old Game".

 

We just carry on now till the end trying to win the game.

It is indeed a cruel game. Got to feel for the Southport fans. Derby score with 45 seconds to go. Southport fans must surely have thought that their team had done enough to earn a reply.

 

I'm loving how we now play till the whistle goes. Not so long ago we'd have given up with even 5 minutes to go!

A very important 3 points well done vale. We need to be putting these teams to the sword if we are going to challenge for the play offs but I will take the three points

Delighted with this - doesn't sound as if we were easily the better team, but our ability to keep going and nick it is reassuring. It's nice to be on the right side of a last minute decider. The three Christmas games sounded promising - a couple of 2 - 1 wins and a good performance, if not a good result against Swindon. The three teams below us have games in hand, but sitting in 8th in early January is something I would have taken three months ago - well done Rob Page, the team, (including super sub Colin Daniel), and the hardy souls who went along to support the lads. A few good results would maintain interest in perhaps shading the last play off place later this season? Or is that too optimistic with our defence?

Very good win for the Vale. Rob Page made the right decision in bringing on Daniel, and how he rewarded him and the fans.

As Cambridge Don said , the booing was probably because of the manager's choice of substitution,but it's still out of order.

Christmas is a pivotal stage of the season, and Vale are starting to put it together now. Well done to the players and staff.

Very enjoyable old type of game.End to end football which is always good to watch.It was a good battling game.Could have possibly been more than 2-1.Seemed to be a lot of balls going into the 6 yard box but often there was no body there.A very well done to to Rob Page and the lads.Atmosphere was good,even more so second half made a cold day feel a bit warmer.Pity there wasn't a few more there see the game as we are heading in the right direction.The future is starting to look brighter.

Good winner and 3 points.

Not a fan of Williamson but thought he started well and took his goal well. Page was right to take him off as second half he barely did anything and we needed someone with fresh legs who could grab a goal.

Good effort from everyone but a poor performance - if we play like that at Chesterfield they may not miss their chances like Gillingham did and we will lose.

Also, Duffy had a shocking performance. Don't rate Robertson but he didn't deserve to be dropped and after that he should come back in - struggled to win many headers in defence.
