Realistically, only the Tories and Labour will ever hold power, real power in this country.

Only as long as people continue to moan but not take any practical steps to exercising their right to a democracy. Only as long as people's comments like you are taken literally and people are therefore dissilusioned. Thankfully, at long last, people are realising what the difference in politics is between the mainstream parties, which is not a lot. And thankfully, at long last they realise there is a party with credibility and structure that has the people of the UK's best interests at heart.

And thankfully it looks like people have at long last woken up and decided enough is enough and will do something about it next May. Labour has taken it's voters for granted for too long.

The people voting Labour into power aren't just voting Labour though. They'll be voting UKIP in Tory heartland.

Errrrrrrr......

Nice selective quoting. The EU is his golden goose. He slags them off knowing hes not going to be able to make a jot of difference, but still takes his lovely big wage off them. If he was serious about change, he wouldn't take a penny. Instead hes a grubby little opportunist who knows he can set himself for life just by spouting the words people like you want to hear. Hes not helping you, hes helping himself!

To paraphrase, he's actually a grubby little "Tory" opportunist- as are his minions. Party of the people- ha! They just tell the chronically ill informed what they want to hear and they lap,it up because they don't know better

And he will drop his 'principles' like a red hot poker if he gets a chance of getting in with the Tories next year.

Of course, you know beat as always, but facts aren't your strong point are they?

The turnout was over 50 per cent, recent General Elections have sometimes been close to 60 per cent so I doubt there will be a much bigger turnout next year.

Your 'damning by faint praise' runs the risk of failing to take UKIP seriously, and will prove a very costly mistake as those like yourself sit there smugly and wonder what happened when we are suddenly run by something very nasty.

The film 'Cabaret' springs to mind where the upper class waster thinks it is good that the emergent Nazis are dealing with the leftists and other 'unruly elements' about 1930 and says they can easily be brought under control. Later in the film, when an entire village (except a few Jewish people) rallies to join in with a uniformed Hitler youth kid singing 'Tomorrow belongs to me', he is asked 'Still think you can control them?'.

Farage isn't Hitler, but some of the worse elements like that thing that got elected last night will carry along ordinary decent people and use them and thank you for sneering at them and underestimating them. Cameron was truly humiliated, and perhaps the only reasonable thing was the Green vote doing fairly well, and Labour not being totally demolished.

Oh please, have you listened to yourself?

This isn't the 1930s, it isn't Germany and UKIP aren't the Nazi Party or even close. Nothing you have posted has any relevance its just a petulant rant because you don't like the fact that people are voting for a party you don't like. We are fed up with being told what to do by corrupt show pony politicians with nothing between the ears and big grasping hands.

Nobody is going to gas the jews. Don't get so hysterical and calm down.

All that is happening is a backlash against years of left wing policies that haven't worked for the majority of people.

Its democracy at work.

I think we've seen that many people in the UK are fed up with the EU and privately educated bankers making a mess of the country, and so in response have voted for a party led by an EU sponsored privately educated former banker.

It's beyond impossible to satirise this stuff.

Your getting us mixed up with America, we vote for the policies in this country not the leader.

So enlighten us oh wise one, what arent we informed about?

You don't even understand the reasons why we vote UKIP so how can you suggest its an uninformed decision?

UKIP are the thin edge of the wedge. In times of economic troubles extremist parties do better. To me UKIP’s main issues seem to be immigration and getting out of the EEC.

Recent immigration has profoundly affected parts of the UK but if you were poor and had a chance of a better life elsewhere would you not move? It makes it difficult for the locals, where I live the fields are full of crops and migrant workers. The wages are low and who benefits, the landowners and the rest of us in getting relatively cheap food.

As for the EEC, I’m not keen on some of the laws they enact but I’d rather have that than the more or less continuous European wars we had before.

CambridgeDon, I do agree with your points though!

However I would go for a pint with Farage as he’s got more charisma than the other leaders but so did a certain Austrian from a few years back.

Finally, this has all got to do with globalisation and the race to the bottom, the problem with constantly driving down earnings for most people is eventually most of us will earn a pittance and only the owners of capital will be affluent.

Errmm have I read that right? You think the EU is the reason why we haven't been at war with the rest of Europe? :rollonthefloor:
